Hello, I NEED ADVICE ASAP
I am considering to buy polk RTi A's for my wife. I also would like to have good vibration to feel bass while watching movies on Blu-ray, and for my wife to listen some of her music on ipod.
I plan to have two RTi A9s , RTi A1 or RTi A3 for front and CSi A6 for center. Another RTi A1 or RTi A3 speakers on side of the living room. (should i go for RTI a 1 or 3 and FXi A6 for the side of living room?) As for back of the living room i would like to put RTi A7 or A5.
I know that RTi a speakers does have subwoofers built in and as deaf person I require good vibration bass. Yes I plan to add subwoofer, I was recommended to buy HSU. Well, I would like to have matching cherry products and I was suggested Polk PSW 1000 (polk direct at good price than msrp of $1,100). I was thinking if I have subwoofers built in these speakers I want and do I need to buy good subwoofer(HSU) because I would already have extra subwoofers in these speakers?
DSW subs are expensive. Then i realize i would be spending lot on speakers with subs in it and would I need DSW sub? Will these subs in RTi A and polk PSW 1000 be equally with HSU sub power?
However, I see polk website that i would be getting free sub if i place some orders over $400. Will this deal reflect with purchase at polk's ebay direct store? this is a way i could benefit extra bass.

The RTi series is all very highly praised. You can't go wrong with any combination of them basically. Going by the speakers you listed, I'd recommend the RTi A9's for the front, and the RTi A7's for the rear, with the CSi A6 center channel. I'd normally recommend the A5's for the rear, but you're looking for tons of bass output, so you'd do better with the A7's.
If you're looking for tons of bass output, Polk may not be the way to go for a sub. They do have some decent subs, but you may want to look into a different company like SVS or something. http://www.svsound.com/products-sub-box.cfm
The RTi A9 towers are still going to have decent bass output on their own though. It all depends on where you have your crossovers at.
What kind of receiver do you have to drive them with? The A9's are very power hungry, and if you're using an underpowered receiver you're not going to be using them for all they're worth. The nirvana inducer-

those RTi's will be great for the wife.
for your unique situation, your looking for whats going to move the most air. if space is a problem, dont rule out the Polk's micropro line, for the size those subs go deep as all hell. they're pricey, but for the bass to cabinet size ratio, its worth it.
if size isnt an issue, SVS is always a good way to go as well.Living Room 2 Channel -

What about using those bass shaker things that are put in chairs.. whatever they're called. Don't know much about them, but it seems a viable solution in this case.:)

No, it isn't.
I think you'll be fine with the choices you've made in the RTiA lineup. Look into the bass shakers as mentioned previously by BrettT1. A good subwoofer is great but the shakers will allow you to "feel" the bass you're talking about yet not be too much for your wife or neighbors...if that's even an issue. Just a thought.
The FXiA series would be a better choice for sides and rears.CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint. -
I've no experience with either, but here is some food for thought...

I installed a buttkicker in his couch and he's back again! -
this is what im talking about!! I finally found it!! i told my wife there must be something like "buttkicker" and i didnt think i needed to spend lot money on subwoofer just to feel. But ill add subwoofer for my wife to enjoy sound too
so Fxi A will be sufficent without RTia7 in rear? Will there be any bass vibration coming out of FXi A? Extra bass is a must!I am 100% BORN DEAF and No I am not kidding! Why am I here? My wife's hearing!

Please do discuss and explain about this product.. like how i would hook it up to what? receiver or the buttkicker amp only? im ingorant abt sounds or speakers its my first time dealing with this because i want to enjoy movies with feel and i married to a hearing woman. Its time for me to learn something related to her world. It sucks not to feel nothing and watch movies. I would like to learn more as I am reading product specs and manual online. Does anyone here have similar product? Why dont Polk provide this kind of subwoofer??
My wife will be happier to hear about silent buttkicker subwoofer in the morning. she hates when i play Resistance 2 on my htib. I crank up loud so i can feel from my sony subwoofer. Oh man when i get her RTi A's and this one.. she will hate when i crank during daytime on the weekends and love me when i go silent with the buttkicker at 2am.
HELL YEA I would rather spend on ButtKicker LFE Kit (the complete package): MSRP - $599 (check prices) instead of polk psw 1000 which sucks as you guys say. No offense polk, this is FOR me!! POLK!!! The FXiA series is generally a better surround speaker, but since you're looking for something with more bass output, that may not be the way to go.
What kind of price range are you in as far as the subwoofer goes? There are a lot of good ones out there...it really all depends on what kind of price range you're looking at for it.
I think I might have to look into getting some of them butt kickers myself at some point actually...those look pretty cool. The nirvana inducer-

well i am looking for both ways bass and sound (for my hearing wife and me) now since i got the buttkicker info, my audio budget went down little becuz i was going to spend lot money on sub to feel. I would rather silent subwoofer with bass like buttkicker in my situation. You see, i dont know what loud sound limit is, sometime i turn too high and it annoys my wife since she can hear. she understands i want to feel something out ofm y sony htib subwoofer. I believe buttkicker is going to solve this annoying loud subwoofer. However, i might as well buy "good enough" subwoofer for my wife and use buttkicker at sametime. itd be fair and enjoyable for both of us.I am 100% BORN DEAF and No I am not kidding! Why am I here? In that case it sounds like the Buttkicker will be all you'll need really. That's probably the best way to really feel the bass without having to crank it really loud.
There are a lot of affordable subs out there too, that would still be more than enough for your wife to be happy with the sound. I'll see if I can dig up a few recommendations. The nirvana inducer-

HSU Research VTF-1 This one has 200 watts with a 10" driver, and goes for about 400 dollars, though the wood grain finish adds about another hundred dollars to that price.
A couple Premier Acoustic subs The PA-10 can be had for about 250-300 dollars, and the PA-12 will go for around 300-350 dollars. These are prices from retailers though, not the MSRP on their website.
Bic Acoustech H-100 No wood grain on this one, but it's a pretty decent sub that can be had for about 250 dollars or so.
SVS NSDseries sub's No wood grain on these either, but they are some damn nice subs. They're a bit higher in price than some of the other ones I listed, but they're worth the difference. I'm actually going to be buying either a PB-10 NSD or a PB-12 NSD here in the near future...haven't really decided which one yet.

However, i will wait and search for similar product and compare. So far Buttkicker company is the best choice. If you like tight, clean bass, Polk DSW and Velodyne SPL series sound fantastic.
If you want lots of boom for explosions, etc...check out SVS.

How many seats do you have? If just one couch then, one Buttkicker LFE will be more than enough. I actually lived down the street from the people who design and make Buttkickers in Ohio. When visiting there facility, I had the chance to sit in luxury theater seating with a buttkicker in each recliner. The effect was amazing, but when I looked at the volume control of the buttkicker, it was barely at 2. For **** and giggles, the technician pumped it up to 8 during a demo DVD . . . I felt like I was being pummeled. I honestly can't imagine a better tactile alternative for someone who has trouble hearing. Even listening to music on these things is fun because they start and stop on a dime. There's never annoying or lingering vibration. -
I've never heard the VM series personally, but they do have some good reviews. They would save you some money though over the RTi's.
Which speakers from the VM series did you have in mind?
Also, I wouldn't imagine you'd need more than 2 of the buttkickers. How many seats are you putting them in? If it's just on one couch one or two of them would probably suffice. The nirvana inducer-

This is all you need. A normal couch that seats about four people will only need one buttkicker even when fully loaded with an entire family.
Trust me. If it's not enough, you can always buy more, but why waste the money if one will be more than enough to rock your socks.
Also, the isolation feet and mounting unit allow the BK to operate seamlessly so it does not at all feel like one side of the couch is shaking harder than the other side. -
