liberty speaker wire question

I'm about to start installing my inwall 7.1 system and had a question about which speaker wires would best suit my setup. I will be using the tc series speakers all around, with the longest run of wires being 30 feet. I was looking at the 12awg 2 conductor liberty thx cert. cl3 wires. Is 12 awg overkill? Will i hear a difference over 14awg ? And can it hurt in anyway by using too thick a wire?

thanks in advance

14ga is more than enough for a 30 foot run. Using 12ga won't hurt a thing, but it can be more difficult to pull through the walls, no big deal though.

But if I were you, I would skip the THX certified wire, all it does is add extra expense. What could THX possibly certify the wire for? The fact that it conducts? Kinda silly.

I'd save a couple bucks and pick up the CL3 Belden 12 awg.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

after doing some more research with all of your recommendations i will be going with the 14 gauge audiquest. i did exact measurements today and im actually going to be running two 40 foot runs. Does this still fall within 14 gauge specs or should i bump it up to 12awg?
