It`s my Heart now...does it ever end ?!!

I have been having bad heart defibs and shortness of breath...I connect it with the stress I`m always under, so I go to the doc...

He set`s up more tests , as I already take high blood pressure meds..

I go in yesterday for test...the radioactive dye tests and a test that is supposed to simulate a treadmill test, as the last time I did the treadmill, two minutes into the test the made me stop nad within 45min. I was haveing an angioplasty done...

For those who don`t know....they cut the main artery in your thigh, by your sack(kinda), and shove a tube up into your heart and expand it to open the artery up...hurts like hell !!

anyway, yesterday they give me this chemical that your body produces in small doses on it`s own...when it produces too much...heart attack !

well they give it to you according to body weight...I weigh 262 lbs, and just under 6ft (5'11.5")

it takes 5 min to slowly administer by machine.....I made it for about 4.5 min !!

they self induced a heart attack !!

then freaked out, and ripped the tubes out, and started oxygen..

you body will absorb it fairly quickly, so they just waited for me to come around..

Thank God I did !!

I think my wife and the nurses were more freaked than me...I just thought I was going to die...right there

it feels like the inside of your brain is filling up like a balloon, hearing goes away 9mostly), the fire is being pumped through your heart (hot !)...then somebody is standing on your chest ...real fast heart rate, breathing fast ...can`t catch up with it...then your lungs keep fiiling until you can`t draw a breath....pain in the heart like you can`t imagine...

as I wa sstarting to come around, I saw the horror on the nurses faces, and my wife was in shock...tears running down her face (tears of joy maybe ?!)

anyway, today I find myself sitting here with a monitor strapped to me and all these wires stuck to my chest, running out the bottom of my shirt , to something that looks like a MP3 player , or a walkman !!

Doesn`t get any channels, but my wife wants to plug it into the wall to see what happns !!

I told them if they try to implant anything, I want some mullard tubes instead of SS...that`s how I roll...

Good to be here today !

And just when ya ythink life sucks and things couldn`t get any worse..

BAMM...they try to kill ya !!

Yeah ... but you made it, dude, and both you and your wife are joking about it, so I think you'll be around to pester us all for a while longer yet ... You both seem to have a really nice sense of humor BTW. It's nice that you can be on here to joke about it just a day afterwards.

Happy recovery, and Merry Christmas to both you and your wife.

(cover your eyes Ms. Frizz !)

two nurses held them back while the Doc shoved !!
I had to keep reminding one of them that that wasn`t a tube, and not an artery that she was going into

Thanks Ms. Frizz....hope you and yours have a safe happy one also

I know what you're going through. Went through most of it myself back in August. I was having the pre-testing done so that I could have back surgery. Failed the EKG, had the stress test and failed that too. Then had the angioplasty and they said that my problem wasn't bad enough to do anything else at the time.
That stress test was scary as ****. I did think my heart was going to explode. Luckily the feeling didn't last too long. For the angioplasty, they went in through my wrist because I couldn't lay flat on my back. That was a really weird feeling. I was awake and could feel that thing going up my arm.
The real stress test came when I got the bills. I really did think I was going to have a heart attack when I saw the bill.
Anyway, glad we both made it though these things. I'm just waiting for the time when "it will get better".
