Thank you fellow member, phipiper10, for selling this unit to me and keeping it in mint condition. I'll do that same. Rich also sent the spare tubes, RCA's, HP's, Sovteks so I guess I have some listening to do.
I will have to wait till maybe Wednesday till the Belles 350a amp arrives to hook it up and can hardly wait.
If anyone has any suggestions I could use them since I know nothing about tubes.

Cool man. Anthem gear is very nice. Good sounding with low noise floor. I dig it.

    Thanks Dan
I wish I could get Fed X to get that amp here quicker so I can hook it all up.

The first rule of tubes, do not handle/touch the tube glass with your bare hands. Always wear gloves, the soft cotton type work well.

The second rule is never grab a hot tube even with the gloves on.

    The pre looks nice, congrats!

My 1st tube preamplifier was a Anthem pre1L  it opened my eyes to the positive sonic effect that tubes can bring to a two channel system. my favorite tubes in the pre1L were the Amperex 7308s which are crazy expensive. The Ei elite 6DJ8s had a pleasing sound very similar to the NOS Amperex tubes at a fraction of the cost and were my 2nd favorite tube in the pre1L circuit but they are very hard to find now that production has been halted for several years but if you can find them i would suggest that you try them out.thanks....WCW III

Congrats; looks great and I'm sure you'll enjoy it. 350a? Are you getting the original or the reference?

    Original
But it has already crossed my sick mind that maybe it should go in for the upgrade. I didn't even get the damn thing yet!!
I'm really not going to do that anytime soon.

The original 350a is a great amp; the reference is in another league. BUT, if you are planning to upgrade, sell it and buy a reference. If you send it to be upgraded (like I did) you'll spend more overall.
