What speaker wire to buy?

I am looking to buy some speaker wire for my surround sound system. The receiver is a Sony STRDG720 7.1, and the center channel speaker is a CS2, and I am looking to get some R50's for the left and right channels, and possibly for the back channels as well. I am not wanting to spend too much money for the wiring (I am not an audiophile).

Thanks in advance.

WalMart automotive section not the home electronics. Get the 14ga. It is a decent bottom dollar cable.

make sure yo buy CL3 rated wire. It's for in wall use. Do not buy any other kind.

Companies like Liberity, Beldon , etc make this kind of wire. You need 16-2 or 14-2 max for your system. You can buy an entire box of 150 foot spool for around 100.00.

I think 16 gauge would do you just fine.

I just went through a similar speaker wire project. Seems like Monoprice is the best choice if 100 feet or 250 feet is what you need. Buy 12 gauge from Monoprice.

If you need something like 150 feet, go with Westlake-Electronic custom cut Belden wire. If you can, go 12 gauge, otherwise the 14 gauge may be sufficient.

Pay a bit more for Blue Jeans Cables 12-gauge Belden wire.

Determine how much wire you need. Price out the in-wall CL3 wire from each seller. And then decide if you are willing to pay a bit more for the Blue Jeans offering.

A Frys nearby (San Marcos, CA) is having a sale on Monster speaker wires. 100ft CL3 rated (I think 10ga?) for $10. Regular price is $60. They also other wires (with plugs) on sale too. Not sure if they offer it online.
