I'm curious. Is there a spec sheet available for the LS6501 (RT7) tweeter? I sure would like to take a look at one. A scanned copy/.pdf file maybe?

    All I have been able to go on is a meter reading on the terminals of 5.9 and 6 ohms respectively. I have to assume, with my limited education and research on the matter that the RT7 speaker, being rated at 89 db spl that a 6 ohm/89 db tweeter replacement is in order. With the cut-outs also being similar, I went with the Vifa D25AG-35 1" Aluminum Dome Tweeter. Since I don't know what the cut-off point or slope is for the RT7 low pass (I'm really surprised I couldn't find this stuff out here with Polk) I also have to pick this tweeter for its relatively low frequency rating of 2000 Hz. I'll let you guys know how it turns out. If all things are equal then my only fear now is that the new tweeters will be a bit tizzy being a metal dome.

    What's the issue and what are you trying to do? Doesn't Polk sell replacement tweeters if your tweeter is dead? Or are you just trying to "re-engineer" a perfectly good speaker?

    Polk wants $95 dollars for a $30 substitute tweeter that never came stock in the RT7 in the first place. Seems like my conserns are pretty legit to me.
