Power Cord Demo Virtual Dynamics

Here are a couple shots of a PC I received for a Demo. As you can see the build is not typical.
I only have a few hours on this cord but so far so good, after it burns in a bit, I will swap it out for some others. I have a Shunyata Python on the way to compare with this one along with another entry level Shunyata.
I will get a full review up after listening to each.

I believe that's the biggest PC I've seen to date Ted. I take it that it's a ferrite wrapped in black near the outlet?~ In search of accurate reproduction of music. Real sound is my reference and while perfection may not be attainable? If I chase it, I might just catch excellence. ~

Cool, when are you going to get some decent speakers in there to listen to?
Check your lips at the door woman. Shake your hips like battleships. Yeah, all the white girls trip when I sing at Sunday service. -
Hehe, that's cruel man.......~ In search of accurate reproduction of music. Real sound is my reference and while perfection may not be attainable? If I chase it, I might just catch excellence. ~

That is by far the craziest powercord I have ever seen. I wonder why it's configured that way.Dan
My personal quest is to save to world of bad audio, one thread at a time. -
This power cord certainly has something going for it. Virutal Dynamics uses magnets to protect the signal. The improvement over the Shunyata Venom is remarkable, not subtle at all, the system actually sounds like it plays louder on the same gain setting. Clarity is improved and the soundstage has more depth. Each wire has its own sheath which is coated with material to dampen any mechanical vibration, metal ferrite beads are used as well to protect against RFI and EMI.
The cord is still not fully burned in so I cannot yet say how in will sound in the end, however, there is certainly something going on with this cord that is very positive.

Ted,
What series is the PC from? By looking at it, it resembles either the Power 1, Testament, or Nite series. As you move up the chain their stuff gets ultra expensive. I'm guessing either the Power or Testament series.
I have their David Series digital & analog cables. Love 'em! Haven't tried the David Series PC or speaker cables yet."2 Channel & 11.2 HT "Two Channel:Magnepan LRSSchiit Audio Freya S - SS preConsonance Ref 50 - Tube preParasound HALO A21+ 2 channel ampBluesound NODE 2i streameriFi NEO iDSD DAC Oppo BDP-93KEF KC62 sub Home Theater:Full blown 11.2 set up. -
yes, that info would be helpful, the cord is the from the Master's L.E, 2.0 series, which is at the top of the mid-line cords, they go two levels above the Master's if I recall correctly and they are not cheap, but the object of the demo was not about the dollar investment, it was to determine if this cord could in fact improve the Sound Quality of the rig over the present power cord. The Shunyata Venom although entry is still 100 bucks and does outperform a stock cord but frankly the VD absolutely crushed it, I still have to compare the Shunyata Python which should be a closer match.
I did compare the PS Audio Statement cords I have by running them straight from the wall, they did sound great but both myself and ClydePolk gave the nod (close though) to the VD running from the wall outlet through the Shunyata Guardian, the PS Audio Statements then run from the Shunyata to the BAT VK-120 amplifiers.

Thanks Ted...man, that's one expensive PC to say the least. It'll be interesting to hear about your listening sessions & indeed if the Master Series PC really delivers & makes a very positive improvement with your system."2 Channel & 11.2 HT "Two Channel:Magnepan LRSSchiit Audio Freya S - SS preConsonance Ref 50 - Tube preParasound HALO A21+ 2 channel ampBluesound NODE 2i streameriFi NEO iDSD DAC Oppo BDP-93KEF KC62 sub Home Theater:Full blown 11.2 set up.

But what about the one that costs $13,416?
-
Well I called Music Direct today and will be returning the Shunyata Python, the VD is just more musical, the Python is no slouch and I would of thought it absolutely top shelf had I not heard the VD, now the only question left is whether I want to completely eliminate a power center, keep the Guardian I have or change it to the Hydra which can pass 30 amps.

You given any thought to Richard Grey? I have the Pro400 and me likey....:D~ In search of accurate reproduction of music. Real sound is my reference and while perfection may not be attainable? If I chase it, I might just catch excellence. ~

Glad you like the VD PCTed. I have 4 of the series you evaluated all plugged into a Hydra 8. Wheel and deal my friend.Michael

Well brought this back for a final review/report.
It was wonderful to have over 60 days to really (reely) evaluate this cord.
Now if you believe PC's don't matter just stop reading and move along, its fine with me.
First off a note about the Virtual Dynamics company. I found the folks I spoke with courteous, friendly and knowledgeable, real Canadian Boy and Girl Scouts, I mean it they are great to deal with especially Omer, they also have that cool accent which comes I believe from having your lips frozen too often. Anyway you can reach Omer at 1-877-347-4489 he is usually there in the afternoon.
OK so the cord, well after two months I not even heard from VD, now I had looked at the MSRP on the web site and these cords are crazy expensive for our little gang, but I figured the demo would not cost me a dime, besides janmike was already using them and gave them high marks. So with some trepedation after two months of use and break in I called Omer to see if I could cut a deal I really did not want to have to give up this cord but we all have budgets. Well I am happy to say Omer is quite flexible as far the cord costs, not going to be cheap by any means, but there are certainly cords from the sites we all know that cost more. I guess if you decide to go for one or more deal with Omer.
So as you can tell, I did manage to cut a deal and am keeping this cord. I preferred it over the Shunyata Venom, PS Audio Statement and Shunyata Python, there is no question the noise floor is lower in my Rig with the VD the result was more musicality more dimensional depth of the sound, better micro dynamics and I still have no clue why the VD actually made the Rig sound louder at the same gain as the Venom cord but it did, the Venom is Shunyata's entry so no big suprise the VD crushed it, the differences between the other two were less but still more than on the sublte side. I continue to use Statement's in my Rig, however I returned the Python under the demo agreement with Music Direct. The Python was close but both myself and ClydePolk preferred the VD in blind test as well as actual extended listening sessions.
The cords are 5ft and are a bit stiff, however, you can bend them to fit your needs, they are going to take up some space though. I believe the magnets are the reason this cord has that magic, Omer will discuss them at length with anyone who wants to get the technical info. Me, well a long time ago I got some advice........"your ears will tell you when to stop with cords and connects" my ears tell me the Virtual Dynamic Master Series is a winner.
For now the VD with a 20 amp IEC is feeding my Shunyata Power Center with the PS Audio Statements then feeding with BAT mono-blocks and most recently the MF 550Kw Superchargers I am demoing. Don't be suprised if at some point you see the PS Audio's for sale in the FM, it simply means I have added two more of Virtual Dynamic cords.

Nice going Ted. Like I said, you need to listen for yourself. I own 4 of them and could not be happier. Congrats Man.Michael
