Hi guys i have a question I will be getting 2 SR124 DVC now my question is how should i power them? I want to run as close to the RMS rating of them as possible. I was recommended a kenwood KAC X1R by crutchfield but I have heard they dont run stable at 2 ohm is this true?
Thank you very much

thanks for the ideas quick question about both
for the PA1200.1 isnt that gonna be a little underpowered to run both subs?
and for the massive audio where is the best place to buy it from? I see on the site its listed as out of stock
Thanks alot -
My bad. I thought you were running only 1 sub.
Still, that would be 600 watts per sub which aint too shabby. The 1500 would be more but consider that although it would be 150 watts more, it only adds up to a .75 db increase in volume.polkaudio sound quality competitor since 2005

ok cool this is my first time using either one of those amps I just wanted to be sure which would be best. if I did go with the PA1200.1 how far past the rms can it go while still being stable?

Hello, I just purchased two SR124-DVC subs and am now going to purchase the proper amp for them, so this thread got my attention.
While I want the PA1200.1, I don't like its lack of power to take each sub to 700 rms. So I'm considering the RF T1500. What do you guys think about that amp? What I want is enough power and a good SQ combination, since SQ is my major concern.
Thanks. -
Actually, I've found these amp alternatives, besides the RF T1500 and the polk PA 1200.1:
Boss CW3500D
MB Quart DSC 1500.1D
Polk Audio PA1200.1
Power Acoustic BAMF5500/1D
Soundstorm CR5000.1
Autotek AT2000.1
Quantum QCa4500D Cozmik
JL Audio - G-MAX
I need an amp who moves the subs to their max rms potential, while at the same time preserving a good SQ. It's a pity that the polk PA 1200.1 amp can't power the subs to their max.
Which one do you think is the best brand for what I'm looking? I'm open to other suggestions if better that all those. -
That RF would be a good choice. Plenty of power.polkaudio sound quality competitor since 2005

Yes, but is it also the best amp from within that list for an SQ setup together with the subs? -
I've researched in many sites and found out that the MB Quart and RF seem to be good brands for SQ. I'm posting the SQ related specs for each amp (directly from their manuals) and see if someone can infer from them which amp can produce better SQ.
Mb Quart DSC 2000
Frequency Response-3db 15hz-250hz
Signal to Noise ratio > 95 db
THD & N 0.1%
Damping Factor >200
RF T1500
Frequency Response 20Hz to 250Hz ±0.5dB
A Weighted Signal to Noise Ratio
Referenced to 1 Watt into 4 ohms ≥80 dB
A Weighted Signal to Noise Ratio
Referenced to rated output into 4 ohms ≥100 dB
THD+N (Total Harmonic Distortion + Noise) (T500-1bd) < 0.5% @ 1ohm
THD+N (Total Harmonic Distortion + Noise) (T1500-1bd) < 0.8% @ 1ohm
Damping Factor >200 -
Any insights onto this?

Amps dont produce sound quality, they produce power. Sound quality depends on what you do with that power.
For an amp you want great built quality, plenty of clean power and no noise. Both the RF and the MB Quart and the JL Audio and the Polk will give you that. The others are flea market brands.polkaudio sound quality competitor since 2005

How does this compare with the Blaupunkt one?
-
it doesn't. cadence ia9-hc. like mac said rf, mb, jl and polk will all work fine but for price, power and other reasons, i'd check out cadence. think u can get that amp w/ 5 yr warranty for like $400..Polk MM6501 kick panels, Eclipse cd7200mkll and SW9122 Bomb Box, Cadence A4, A7, CAP5, JL8W3V3
