Horns don't have no stinkin' grills. I through a big piece of material over top because looking at them distracts me too much.

Avantgarde horns, 300b tubes, thats the kinda crap I want... -
Off when listening, they don't even keep dust off really and will not stop anything from damaging them, really wish they would incorporate some kind of metal or something to actually protect them.

Cats are simply doing what comes naturally. I had both Tami & Oscar declawed. (front claws only) They never were let outside to roam & lived long, healthy, happy lives & I still have all my furniture & speakers INTACT!!!
Both loved to sharpen their nonexistant claws on my speakers.I have cats. They are not permitted in my music room. There is way too much money in my speakers and my gear. You could always declaw the cat. I know some people are against it but it depends on how you look at it. It is a trade off for a good life in a loving home. Other people will say it is cruel. I have had both kind of cats. The declawed cats had the run of the house, my cats at this point with claws are confind to a couple of rooms. I would be ripping if my cat messed up my SDA SRS 2's or any speaker of mine. They can still mark territory with the scent pads on their paws. I prefer my Audiophysic's topless but when i had my Paradigm ref 100 V3's the grills were mdf framed and tapered beneath the cloth to direct the sound dispersion and it was recommended to use themRogue Audio stereo 100 tube amplifier - Lector Zoe preamplifier with 6H30 pi's

I like the look of my speakers with the grills off. I haven't noticed a difference in the sound either way though.
Although with them off I have to watch my nephew like a hawk when he comes over. He's only 2 (almost 3) and he has an obsession with trying to touch my speakers and trying to put things in the ports. Worse though he likes to try and touch my LCD TV...grrrr. -

Grilles on always, just like my seatbelt!I refuse to argue with idiots, because people can't tell the DIFFERENCE!

Welcome indeed Zerba. I had a pair of Swan speakers that had netting at the end of the ports on the inside. It kept thing from getting stuck in there. What kind of speakers are you running?
-
Usually leave mine on but decided tonight to do some listening tonight with them off.
The highs had more sparkle. Got me to thinking that with the 2000 tweets the grills on would be better but with the RDOs the factory cloth may be too heavy.
I think changing the grill cloth was one of DarqueKnight's recommended upgrades in his improvements for SDA-1Cs threads.
