Hi all,

So i come home yesterday from work and decide its time to play some halo. Fire up all the equipment like normal and buzzzzzzzz. Front left speaker is buzzing. There was a power outage and all my clocks where flashing. I think the amp is fried. It buzzes and pops whether i have the speaker connected or not. Top half works fine.

Long story longer i guess the monster clean power didnt do **** to help.

Any one know if the amp is fried?
Is there a way to turn off the cross over and use the speakers without the amp? I imagine i am loosing a lot of the lows because they are being directed to the power sub.

Thanks!

the amp in the speaker is fried or your external amp? do the RT1000p's have jumpers on them? if so.. remove the jumper and that will separate the subwoofer from the mid's and tweeter and try it out again.

sorry that happen. i would be mad too if my surge protector didn't do it's job.. call or write to Monster and say WTF?

External amp is ok. THe right speaker top and bottom work great. Also, the top of the left works fine... I am currently using speaker wire to connect the top and the bottom. I still ahve the top and bottom connected, and the power is turned off for the speaker amp

    good afternoon all,
in case anyone was curious i received the replacement unit from monster today. it appears to be new! It only took a month of being deprived of my stereo.

still waiting on if they will approve the speaker repair cost.

makes you wonder though if their surge protectors do any good or not.

Doesn't monster guarantee something like $100,000 stereo gear replacement if their equipment ever kills your gear? I'd be checking into that one.

on the box it says guaranteed up to 500K. I submitted an email quote from POLK saying it would be 65 dollars to repair the amp. I need to follow up with Monster on the status. Ill let you know how it turns out!
