Traded my SRS 2s for these plus some cash. I'd rate them 7/10 due to age. Work flawlessly, drivers are new ARs and only reason I'm selling is due to my joblessness. Car biz, what can I say.

Local Pick-up only $450. Pics upon request. Would consider some SDA 2Bs as partial trade.

I'm 45 minutes east of Indy and about an hour from Dayton, 1 1/2 hrs from Cinci.

Definitely a set of speaks that should be experienced.

The dealership I was running got sold, and new owner brought in his own crew. I have been interviewing with a large dealer group for a GM position and just spent 3 hrs with their CFO, but I'm not sure how fast he's going to make the move. I needed it to happen two months ago.

I'll get pics up as soon as I can get a camera. Cabinets are in well above average shape for their age and are very presentable . All drivers are fresh and active crossovers work without a hitch. The back of the cabs have a few rub marks, probably from a two-wheeler. All 6 grills are excellent.

Would these speakers do well as fronts in a ht setup? I run a 3.1 for 60/40 tv/music. Im currently running the polk rti8s and they just dont do it for me when listening to music.
Im really looking for something to wow me in the music department.

These do have the WOW factor. My old speakers and ND13 is being very conservative in his description of these. Extremely musical, Very good condition. Beautiful deep grain on the veneer. The scratches on the back are from a moving company laying them on the back and pushing them inside the truck. The back is satin black and a light sanding and some black satin spray paint will bring them back up. The scratches don't even show when the speakers are set up and really mean nothing.
Musically an excellent speaker with clarity, detail, and drive. A truly fine sounding speaker you won't be disappointed with.

My thoughts with you, Noel. Hope things turn for the best soon. We are all in this nasty ride together, I am taking it one day at a time. There are so much uncertainty what the future holds, but I have my faith that things bound to turn around. Hopefully sooner.
I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.

It's really hard to imagine these speakers are still F/S. Everyone is looking for high quality musical speakers and there's not many speakers that can keep up with these for quality reproduction without taking out a loan for the next couple of years. These are a killer sounding speaker that's not lacking in any area. A full range tower with small footprint that is able to deliver clarity, balance, power, and smooth in one package. WOW factor? Just another good name. Impressive sound reproduction at a low cost. If you've not experienced vintage AR in their prime you really are missing the boat. An Extremely well balanced, affordable speaker the likes of which haven't been seen in years.
The mid range and tweeters parts alone will bring more on Ebay than Noel is asking for these. This is definitely a "NO BRAINER" for anyone needing speakers.
Gas is down in price, he's in a good location, easy to find, and knowing Noel like I do, you won't find a more honest and pleasant person to deal with.
Everything in these is excellent. No upgrading needed of any kind. Ready to play as they are for years.
I should have some pics on my PC of these. I'll dig through the recycle bin and see what I have for them.
They're a beautiful speaker that sounds better than they look.
Build quality and beautiful veneer are second to none
You need an excellent speaker? Get off your butt and grab 'em before they're gone. You'll never know the quality you've been missing until you have a listen. You don't need a sub, you don't need 400wpc, you don't need a complete wall for setting up the speakers, and all you need is a about a 16x16 place on the floor to set them on.
Within the first couple of seconds you'll have stepped up in the world of audio. You won't be disappointed.

pictures of top of one speaker and some of the new AR drivers put in these. I'm just short of pics and these drivers are just an example of the new old stock I used when rebuilding these. Not a good example at all of these but it's all I have left.

Those would make great surrounds for my rig, but I can't drive. Even if I could, Indiana is a touch out of the way.

You might not need 400wpc, but having it certainly isn't going to hurt.

In order to reach the 32Hz bottom end, these speakers will have to be placed within 2" of the front wall, and the OUTER woofers need 3 feet to the nearest wall. If you don't do that, you won't hear 32Hz out of them

That can be said for most speakers and their specs.

I beg to differ. It is critical with this model/series from AR.

    That's cool.

They sound great in my 455 sq. ft. room with no sub, as I don't listen to very much music that even goes that low anyway.

Other speakers may realize low-end reinforcement with room boundary placement. This MAY WELL tilt the sonic balance of the loudspeaker towards the low-end. But most speakers should be brought out into the room away from the front wall (according to designers suggestion).

These speakers were DESIGNED to be placed right up against the front wall.

The guy on AG did the black formica thing. Icky.

These are exceptional loudspeakers in my opinion, and I wish I could get them. Sooner or later a pair will surface nearby. In fact, the AG pair may not be very far from here, looks like a New York zipcode.
