Has anyone had a chance to audition both and compare them? your thoughts?

Price wise, they are about in the same ballpark. I have MIT S3 and thought about getting another pair for my other system. However, having read some of the rave review of KK product, I am tempted to try out KK Monocle XL.

In general, what can I expect of KK sound characteristics?

TIA
I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.

KK's are smooth but very very detailed. I have heard and Installed a few pairs of Xl's. I like them a lot. You might also want to look into a pair or 2 of the Kcag's, They are remarkable . Together your system with shine.

Compared to MIT, they will bring out the highs more and clear up the mid range in comparsion. You will find differences on your own but expect this.

I think the winner of the day was Brock's MIT Terminator 2 cables and IC's. They definitely sounded great and I was definitely impresssed by their fullness to a point where I am seriously thinking of switching over.

I've yet to hear a better balanced, fuller sounding, absolutely killer vocals, tonally correct and properly spaced soundstage than what MIT cables do.

Thanks, Guys. I am very happy with my S3, Jesse, although tempted and wondering what KK is all about (for a different POV). I wish there is a demo tryout program.

Frances, go for the S1. I heard a pronounced difference between the S3 and S1. The S1 sounds fantastic!

Good point, Carl. hmmm. I was hoping that Jesse is ready to upgrade to the Oracle series and offer me his S1 at substantially reduced price. ;)

Well, I do have a pair of S3 IC's I might be willing to part with.

Thanks for the offer, Jesse. I already have S3 ICs too, courtesy of Joe Abrams. I do believe in pairing nowadays, the synergy between S3 IC and S3 Shotgun is hard to miss. Unless if I believe cable don't matter. he he he.

I did try the Kimber before going full steam ahead with the MIT. Guess that tells you what I thought for my rig.
