I think thats what I have a problem with lately, not just in here but in life itself. For the first time or me knowing it, I don't really like change. I don't care to move on. It's always been there but I really didn't notice it.

    It bothers me now.

Maybe people are simply busy living their lives. Troy is in Korea.

And Phil, There is nothing PC about acting like civilized human beings who were raised with good manners.

Life is about change, this board has changed dramatically from the 4 years that I have been here, and it has changed for the better.

Those that didn't want to evolve & change with the board have probably moved on. Oh well, the board has survived just fine without them and will continue to do so.

And some of it is the fact that answering the same questions over & over again can get boring. But so long as others pick up the slack it will be fine.

As much as you guys got a kick out of the TBT, & I & Darla the Joys threads, they really didn't belong here. I don't see that kind of thread on any of the other audio boards that I peruse, & they do just fine.

There are millions of **** boards for your pleasure, but this isn't one of them.

cfrizz, has it changed for the better for all or just you. I can't believe you brought up the TBT again. This thread had nothing to do with it at all. PC is good and so is the fact that we all have an oppurtunity to ignore the things that annoy, anger, disgust or sadden us. Just because it may have gotten better or more PC for you doesn't mean it is the right thing. It is just right for you.

I am not trying to start an argument with you about this but Jesus H Christ drop this crap already. It's over, you won, move on.

To answer the question,(you know the reason the thread was created) I do see Russman here and there maybe just not as often as before.

Cathy, those are strictly your opinions as they apply to you. Just remember that opinions vary. And PC has nothing to do with acting civilized or being raised with manners (good natured arguments, opinions here are now a thing of the past). It's all about one's agenda & if they have the power to inforce it, well then the proof is in the pudding. Hence, a lot of involvement here has decreased. Now whether that's good or bad is strictly one's opinion.

The way I look at it, that thread was what made the polk forum unique:) \

I've definitely noticed a major change since I started here a few years ago. Before, it felt like you can talk about whatever you want (within reason), now it seems like as soon as something gets interesting the thread is deleted. Its their forum and I have nothing against that, but its just not as "fun" around here anymore.

fun doesn't last forever. eventually even fun gets old.

This forum is ever evolving. I think those members who were here in the early days have moved on for various reasons... each person has their own reason for not posting as much or not participating anymore.

Name one forum that hasn't changed in some way from the first time you became involved in that forum.... they all evolve as the membership changes.

This is still one of the best forums for us audio nuts on the internet, whether the original members are here or not.

Face it, we used to get away with murder on here... I was a part of it, and it was fun... but today's club Polk is still alive and doing well.

If you feel otherwise, that's fine.. that's your opinion.

Why dwell on what this forum USED to be.. lets make it what it could be instead. :D

That is true and unfortunately it was not for the better. This place used to be a hell of a lot more fun and care-free. But all that has changed as too many here fight, argue and are just plain childish which then lead to heavier moderation which has taken a lot of fun from this place.

Sometimes change is not for the better.

Either way I love this forum. Through here I have made great friendships that will last a lifetime. Not to mention Polkfest the best party of the year. So what it has changed but all of the diehards are still here. If they want to leave they can.

It has nothing to do with the PC police, it has everything to do with the maturity level of the members here (or lack thereof) that brought out the PC police.

If you look above Joe, I'M NOT the one that brought up/continue to whine about the TBT! I simply responded to the comment. I let it go when the threads were dropped. It's a shame you poor guys can't do the same.

BTW, I never had anything to do with shutting them down, I simply stayed out of the thread.

Yes Phil it is my opinion and I am just as entitled to voice it. I bet it is the opinion of the vast SILENT majority that are on here.

Good natured, spirited arguments are NOT a thing of the past on here. What is a thing of the past, are the out & out chest thumping brawls that some just love participating in to try & prove their manhood and to get a little drama in their lives.

Well the drama queens will have to get their kicks somewhere else.

This is STILL the best place to get info & help about all things audio. If that assistance is now being given out with a lot more class & a lot less drama, IMO that is a great thing!

I never had it like this where I grew up. But I send my kids here because the fact is you go to one of the best schools in the country: Rushmore. Now, for some of you it doesn't matter. You were born rich and you're going to stay rich. But here's my advice to the rest of you: Take dead aim on the rich boys. Get them in the crosshairs and take them down. Just remember, they can buy anything but they can't buy backbone. Don't let them forget it. Thank you.Herman Blume - Rushmore
