...her music will break your heart listening to it ...knowing she DIED at an early age....before "she made it " !! Wasn't appreciated til after death. Google her. The "Songbird" disc or the "Live at Blues Alley". Nice recordings too.

I meant to post this here but posted in an old Eva Cassidy thread accidently. Must have stayed up to late:o
Eva Cassidy rocks!
John 30 30 happened to mention her in a thread so I checked her out on a whim. Wow, what a talent and interesting story. I've since aquired as much of her music as possable and turned my friends on to her as well. Live at Blues Alley is a favorite.

I am a converted Eva Cassidy fan as well. The sound quality on the "songbird" vinyl is fantastic.ChrisPreamp: Anthem Pre 2L (Jan-Phillips Green) Processor: Marantz SR7012 Amp: B&K 200.5Streaming: Bluesound Node 2IDAC: Eastern Electric Minimax Plus4K Bluray: Panasonic UB820Mains: Von Schweikert VR2Center: Von Schweikert LCR15 Subs: 2 SVS Sb13 Ultra (HT Only) Analysis Plus Cables

Thank you for bringing that other post to light. Its seems her presence of soul is appreciated....even in choice of songs on albums. She "FLOATS" on clouds through your speakers.

...Wiki her albums....not a bad one amongst them. She was a cross over....can span any genre.

Read from Washington Post:

....there is something about her voice that is SPECIAL.....even the engineer did a great job capturing it. -
search for videos of Eva Cassidy at youtube. I don't know if it's because I know her sad life story, but they're heartbreaking to watch (but danged good, at the same time). She was a very talented "song stylist" at a time when that wasn't particularly fashionable. Her day job was landscaping.
