COD - World at War

I’m surprised nobody has said anything about the different sound architecture on this game.
With cod4 I found it really easy to listen where people are with the surround sound. I however find that with this game people make less movement noise making this almost impossible.
Also they use a system like halo 3 where noises sound different at different distances? Also first time I played it I thought that firing guns made less noise so you couldn’t as easily run towards the fight?
Anybody else have similar opinions?

I love that my controler vibrates when I shoot a gun ! that's something that was missed in COD4, I know the vibrate came out just after but it's too bad.

I must say that I was disapointed that this game was so short I finished it yesterday!! It was on normal and I didn't find all the special packages... but still!! :mad:

I remember playing Xbox games that would take forever to finish

I'm finding the online version of this not as good as COD4, it's not as fluid/smooth add to that the maps are huge. I'm just not finding it as fun as COD4.

Agreed, not to mention when you kill someone they spawn right next to you and youre dead in seconds. I definitely like COD4 better.

I just got this today for Christmas. (PS3) and I'm having tons of fun. I like the big maps. Come and play me. I don't have any cool guns yet so you might have a chance.:p (Wingnut4772)

Wish I could join ya, I'm sure some of the guys will, most of us are on the 360. Glad u like it though. Check out COD4 also, try to rent it and compare the two. I think you'll like that one also.

I started out with COD4. I was kicking around getting the Xbox. I saw one for sale here recently but now I can't find it.

Check Gamestop for a refurb core system, you can pick up hard drive for cheap also there.

Been playing this until the sun rise of the morning. No work right now and gaming until 5am rules. Mountain in my Bubba Cups and I'm in the zone. Been gaming with Grimster allot and looking for the rest of you guys to join.

Hey guys,
I have this game for the PS3 and have beaten it and wanted to play **** zombies with a friend on multiplayer. I went to the multiplayer on the main menu and hit the misson settings on the multiplayer menu (just like you would on a xbox 360) and the thing for **** zombies wasnt there. Please let me know if it is different for the ps3 or what i am doing wrong and how to fix it.

I read somewhere that you can use vehicles in this COD version, is that true? I have found myself going back to BF2 more often and rarely play COD4 anymore because in BF2 I can drive tanks, fly a jet (I have pedals for rudder control and joystick hooked up so it's a real treat for me) among other things that I can't do in COD4. The biggest question is are there any aircraft's available to use?

I know this is a little late, but i guess better late then never. It's under Co-op not multiplayer. One of the options in there let's you select it.

I found this and played with a friend for a couple hours!!
The multiplayer is amazing. can you play with more than 2 players on this game.

co-op is up to four, not sure the limits on regular multiplayer, probably 12 or so

I don't see how people can play FPS games on a console...The mouse+keyboard are obviously superior for that type of game (and i've tried both).

Of course, this is probably more of an opinion option.

KB/M being superior to controller for FPS, that's not an opinion, it's a fact. Still, you can play FPS with a controller although not nearly as enjoyable (that might be an opinion).
