And I never understood the reasoning behind putting up political signs in your yard.

Are people really that dumb that if they see a name enough times while they are driving that they may vote that way..just out of sheer name recognition?:(

I equate putting up a political sign to putting up a flag (be it National, State/Provincial, Municipal, or Pirate). More than anything people who do this just want to show off who they support and that they are proud of it. It is also no different than people getting online and changing their facebook status to "Vote For Mr. X."

Also, putting a sign up allows people who know you, but not your political interests, to drive past your house and see who you support. There is the possibility for the thought to cross their mind; "Wow, my friend is a pretty intelligent and logical guy, and this is who he is voting for. Being politically unaware and having respect for my friends opinions, maybe I should vote the same way." lol, ok, but it COULD happen! :D

    Just my thoughts on signage.
