I saw most of the card 'cause I was cleaning up dinner for the first 20 minutes or so but I caught most of it. We were flipping back and forth between the Phillies and the UFC. Stupid Phillies almost blew the game.
Anyway, Spencer Fisher Vs. Shannon Gugerty ended in what I saw as a bit of an upset. But that was an impressive submission move he got on Shannon. The only real reason I saw it as an upset was the height disadvantage Spencer has. But it was clear Spencer's experience won out in that match.
Sean Sherk Vs. Tyson Griffin was good one too and I really didn't expect Sherk to win but Griffin did not look so much like himself. He seemed a little off-guard but the decision was pretty close if I recall the scoring.
Fabricio Werdum Vs. Junior Dos Santos was brutal. That shot Werdum took to the face was just...yeesh! Gave me the willies!
I think Maynard got real lucky in Rich Clementi Vs. Gray Maynard 'cause I think Clementi fought the better fight and Maynard just got the points with a few big moves. Maynard almost knocked himself out a couple of times with those big risk take downs he does.
Josh Koscheck Vs. Thiago Alves could have been better but it was apparent that Koscheck was not fully prepared for the fight and that's a shame because it could have been better.
But the big disappointment was Cote vs. Silva. When Cote went down, that was a huge disappointment. The first round was boring as hell, the second started livening up and the 3rd they came out scrapping and then Cote's knee pops out, gives everyone the creeps and ends up a disappointment. I thought it would have been neat to see how long Silva would have lasted because he's never gone more than 2 rounds. Cote was going the distance before his knee gave out.

Watched it, Sherk/Griffin was a really good fight. I love watching two great grapplers go at it, because their wrestling skills are so good they are forced to stand up and fight.
Santos' shot on Werdum was incredibly brutal. BUT being as experienced as Werdum is, he should have never dropped his head when throwing that overhand right. There was blood literally squirting out of his nose. Incredible.
Maynard was lucky that Clementi was tired, because the crap he pulled on Clementi late in the second round and all of the third round would have been a tap out in the first. Good wrestling match though. I liked it.
Koscheck/Alves I want to see a proper rematch. Enough said (PS- Josh has a monster chin, gained a ton of respect for that guy last night)
Cote knee was legitimately hurt, but I was not really that impressed with Silva. He looked way off, and Cote had a fair chance of beating him. I don't see a rematch of this unless Dana makes both of them do it. -
only caught the silva fight. imo, cote didn't even stand a chance, not from the minute the start bell rang.

Damn knees. It's like they are flawed from the maker. they need to be upgraded to a better more durable model. I hate it. I have one bad knee.
It was looking like a respectable fight then the damn knee.
Good card.Dan
My personal quest is to save to world of bad audio, one thread at a time. -
i didn't see anything (imo) respectable about the silva fight. cote was the shorted dude and i never saw him try to get inside to make the blows. no way in hell he was gonna stand at a silva's arm's length reach and box it out. silva is too tall. the only way for cote to be able to do anything was to get on the inside or take silva down for some ground-n-pound. not to mention the quick leg kicks of silva's that were for the most part, unanswered.
for the record, i don't like silva at all. but maybe he'll grow on me.

I was at the fight and you could clearly tell silva was going to eat Cote for dinner. But the Dos Santos fight I heard the punch in the stands. Over all a great experiance but the last fight was a bummer:(

what i am really curious the outcome and am waiting patiently for is the randy couture vs brock lesnar fight in the next ufc. randy the old man couture is my guy. but the humongous and younger brock may just take him out via brute strength. dunno if he can pull out a submission like frank mir did...
