Crossover Help w/ RT3000p/PSW200

Hi. Recently purchased a BD player (Sony S550) which has me trying to dial-in my audio system with more detail than previous. Started by attempting to add 10db to the LFE via my sub gain, but realized I don't have any real handle on my overall Crossover settings. So, I would appreciate some Crossover/Volume setting advice from a Polk master who understands how these speakers truly work together.

Here's my setup:

BD S500 player:
Audio signal decoded in player, 5.1 channel analog out, speakers set to large, no BM, all levels 0db

AVR - Denon 3300:
5.1 analog in. No individual level control for these.

Main Speakers:
RT3000p
Satellites sit atop Sub
Satellites wired from 3300 amp
Subs wired from 3300 Mains pre-out

Center:
RT1000p
Wired from both 3300 amp and 3300 Center pre-out

Sub:
PSW200
Wired from 3300 sub-out to PSW200 Left/Mono

Surrounds:
FX500s

So my question is, how should the crossovers be set between the RT3000 vs the PSW200. I also want to add the 10db for the LFE, but I'm not seeing a specific way to do that, given Polk's generic adjustment labels.

Any tips are much appreciated.

J.

I have almost the same receiver: Denon 3200 ... very nice BTW, IMO, although it does have its limits by today's standards.

It sounds as though you are wired to the 3300 to use the crossover management of the Denon, so I wonder if you should be setting the speakers to "small" rather than "large", with a crossover between 80 and 60Hz maybe, given the range of those speakers (the "satellite" part seems to be very similar to an RT55, which works best within that range IMO). You may also want to check whether you want to send only LFE to the subwoofers of the RT3000p (which sounds a bit odd to me) or L/R & LFE ... I'm guessing that you want the extra 10dB to go the PSW200 subwoofer, for better LFE, rather than the subwoofers of the RT300p? This may not be much help, since I'm really only thinking out loud ... :o.

There are a few members here with those speakers around and they would probably be able to help you more precisely, but it may be a while before they notice your post. The LSi25 owners may also be able to help also though, since those are also powered towers.

    Good luck, and welcome!
    Alea jacta est!
