Yes, you read that right. The Italian State Police took delivery of a brand spankin' new Gallardo LP560-4. Pretty spiffy! Comes with gun racks and cameras and the whole shebang! Including, get this, including a cooler for severed body parts to be delivered to the hospital. How's that for forward thinking?

Sounds like a pilot TV series waiting to hatch. "Presto, Robin! Nel Pipistrello-mobile!"

Lambos are cool to look at but when you get you butt handed to you by an old Honda CRX I think it is money wasted. Maybe the Italians should invest in a few Honda CRXs,lol. Would save a ton of money and they could use the rest to get their women some razors.

UHHHH, I had a CRX, and while it was peppy there was only so much 4 cyl could do, and any Lamborghini, Ferrari, or Chevy Camaro for that matter that was not attached to a tow truck would run circles around it.

Not many Hondas would run with it. I mean that in more than a 0-60
head to head. Braking, cornering, top speed, and long haul top speed.
Face it, from a cool factor, you'll get more chicks in a Lamborghini
    than driving a Honda.:D

Yeeahhh, you're not smart. Any Lambo would lap the CRX in real life. That video doesn't show anything aside from one dude driving fast and another not. That's like saying that my '04 Subaru is faster than a Porche because I passed a few on the highway on my way into work. Maybe the Porche's weren't going all out in traffic? Just maybe?

Obviously the vid of the crx I linked to is heavily modified, lol. I was just saying that for a fraction of the price this little crx totally dominated the Lambo. Here is one of a little Honda del sol whipping up on another Lambo. I am not knocking Lambo by any means, it's just that for the price of a Lambo I could buy a car that would kick the crap out of it, a house to park it at, and a few Hooters girls to wash my ummmm, car. Heck, even a little bit modified Subaru impreza beats a $200,000,00 car. My favorite though are the Supras and Skylines. If you are looking to impress people with looks then the Lambo wins hands down, but for performance to equal price though it is just not justified.

Wasn't trying to start a friggin' war here you all. I was just saying the Italian's wasted their money on that car, period. It is for looks and bragging rights. A cop isnt going out to pick up chicks in his car and show off, he is there to enforce the law. Heck, when he does pull someone over and has to haul them away where does he put them....I know,I know, another unit comes to take them away. Just another example of wasted tax dollars imo. Takes 2 to do a 1 person job. ;)

Read the article, champ. The "Italians" didn't waste anything on the car. Lamborghini donated it.

Man you all are hostile today. It's not even your car and you are defending it like it is part of your family or something. Kinda like spending money on audio equipment I guess, personal preference. You all speak about diminishing returns on audio equipment once you reach a certain price point.....that's all I am saying. Spend $50,000.00 for the same performance as the $200,000.00 + Lambo and have alot of money left over for other things. I did not read the article (so I stand corrected on the Italians "buying" it) but I am glad they did not waste their money on it. Guess Lambo has some good marketing people.....alot cheaper to get worldwide exposure by giving a car away than to pay for advertising.
    Go do it then.

I have in my friends Subaru WRX STI many times. He owns everything from Lambos,Ferraris,Vipers,Corvettes,Camaros,Mustangs,etc... The only thing he has lost to at the track so far this year has been a Supra and a Honda. All the american muscle cars didn't even come close. And that includes the 72' Chevelle with a 454 and 900hp that use to be mine back in high school. My buddy still has it to this day from when I sold it to him before I went into the military.

    Disagreement is not a war.

You call supeing up a piece of crap car "value", I call it "lipstick on a pig." Having a beautiful, perfectly engineered driving machine isn't necessarily showing off (though there is a factor), some people just appreciate something that is truly well-crafted and meant to truly perform. Dropping 20 grand on a POS Honda just to make it go fast doesn't do anything for me, or most people.
If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

Also, the people that can afford Lambos (and I am most certainly not one of them) don't want or care about saving money, nor would any self-respecting person who is more than 3 years out of high school be caught dead driving around in a tricked out CRX or Supra.

That reminds me of a good Friday anecdote which is O.T., but about a 4-cylinder Vega with an interesting, Stephen King-ish past. (I think it's 4-cyl.)

Belongs to my buddy now, and it was H-P modded by the original owner.
That happened to be a Tulsa oil millionaire who was mob-whacked in a parking lot of a golf course in the 80's over some gambling syndicate stuff. The mobsters involved have been in the papers lately.

The man's widow had no use for the car, and my friend picked it up on the cheap. He takes it over to Thunder Valley every once in a while, gets some disbelieving laughs, and then shuts up the Honda braggarts with it every once in a while.

p.s. I'm not a car tweaker, barely know beans from octane.

You're missing the point. Your "friend" has all of that. If it's so easy to do, like you claim, go do it.

If I had a nickel for every time some stupid kid in a Civic told me he could do this and that for how much and beat my truck, I'd have full tank of gas!

Anyone who talks the way you do clearly has no idea what it takes to get a car to perform to that level and even if they did have a car that could perform at that level they would run out of talent long before the car did.

You're talking out your **** and bench racing and just like that tool greg2350 and his precious ZR1 and nobody wants to hear it. If you want a car that will perform like a Lamborghini for the money then go buy a Lamborghini. If you want to take a pile of crap Honda and do then shut up and get to it 'cause you got alot of learning to do before you ever even think of turning a wrench.

But I will promise you one thing. Those Hooters girls you speak of? You pull up in your poopbox, hacked together CRX and I'll go rent a Lambo and we'll see who the girls are more interested in.

If I had that kind of money I would not waste it on either a Lambo or modified anything. I would do as I have always done when I have extra, give it to the less fortunate. Even right now with the economy the way it is I give more than I receive on any given day of the week. As a matter of fact, just last night I "gave" my Subaru that broke down to a family that needed a car. The husband is a mechanic by trade and he is going to get a used transmission from the junkyard for a few hundred bucks and fix it. The way I look at it is, if you have it to spare then spare it. Here is something I am associated with that gives you way more of a rush than any Lambo ever will. I am not rich by any means but I still give as much as I can. Sometimes all I can give is my time for volunteering but at least it is still helping someone in need. Actions speak louder than words any day that is why my actions dictate who I am not what I say I drive.

Actions speak louder than words and right now, your actions of posting your words on the Internet have not painted a favorable light. Add to the fact that you are using disadvantaged people to make some point that your previous posts have flown in the face of and you look quite hypocritical.

Hey Jstas, even if I had the money to buy the luxury items, that is not the person I am. It is a COMPLETE waste of money imo. And I have turned a wrench plently of times back in high school to get my Chevelle running. Also just replaced the axle on my 92 Subaru about 6 months ago by with a little help and a few tools I needed to do it. There were 4 of us that spent the better part of 2 years putting together that car (the Chevelle). We even took a 4 speed slap shifter out of an old nova, had to cut the floorboard for it to fit. I redid the hood on the Chevelle myself. The cowl induction hood was not big enough in the middle to fit everything. I cut it out, riveted the new scoop on, and even painted it (looked like crap though, had no idea how to paint anything). We took it down to the strip every weekend and raced. I could go on and on but I think you get my drift.

Seriously, I had a 1995 corvette for about 3 years and loved it!! 6-speed, 48mph in 1st gear and I hit 150mph with it on I-40 one morning. BUT it does not hold a candle to the kind of craftsmanship that Ferrari or Lamborghini or even Porsche for that matter build into their autos. Lots of bang for the buck, but it is still just a Chevy

Stop, ha ha ha!! You musy have me confused with someone else you were thinking of. I only stated in my FIRST post that a crx kicked the crap out of a Lambo and that "I" thought it was a waste of money. Then you get all up in arms about it. Kinda funny. You might want to get your facts straight there partner.

As far as I am concerned Jstas, the pissing match we are in is the same as owning that Lambo. Nothing more than a bunch of testosterone flying around and chest thumping. Sorry your panties got all in a bunch over a meaningless car thread you posted. Now I know to be "sensitive" around you and your threads so your feeling are not hurt. Live and learn. End of discussion on my part.

    What a tool.

    Dude, stop. Seriously.

If it makes you feel better, I'll tell you what you want to hear. You're awesome cause you know your friend. You are far superior to any engineer at Lamborghini because you can do the same thing, only, BETTER with a Honduh! You're absolutely right! The Italians did waste their money on that Lamborghini cop car even though they got it for free. They got robbed. You're a damn sight better than the rest of us because you donate more than you make in a year. I wonder how a saint as pious as yourself manages to stay alive with virtually no income and personal finances operating in the red. It's not like I or anyone else here makes any kind of charitable contribution. Thank you for your passive aggressive lecture pointing out to us how we all suck through your self-important praising of your good deeds towards disadvantaged mechanics. You must truly be blessed. Can I just touch your coat tail just so I can say I had a brush with such greatness and bring meaning to my pitiful life?

As far as your sensitivity comments, honestly, it's me who curbs their enthusiasm. I bite my tongue more often than not because of people like you who can dish it out but you can't take it. You're like those guys in the bar with the "bone stock 9 second 70 Chevelle with the 455 HEMI Cobra Jet" that they had to sell 'cause they couldn't afford the "jet fuel" it ran on. If I tell them they are wrong, I'm a "punk kid". If I patronize them and say "Really? A 455 HEMI huh? Wish I could get my hands on one of those!" I get told I'm a patronizing jerk. Kinda like what you just did. But see, unlike you, I don't have "friends" that have done it. I HAVE done it. So save your stories for another place and time because I know I'm not the only one here that has extensive knowledge of the topics you are trying to expound on and failing miserably.
