Nope I am pretty dumb. As soon as I can use a lighter with my right hand I will probably go relight the brush pile. The bandages should help protect me from the flames:D

Well, I just pulled off the impossible by doing a double-blind comparison all by myself, purely by virtue of the fact that I completely and stupidly forgot what I did last. I guess that getting old does have its advantages after all :D

Ben - Ouch!! Next time, try making a torch from a stick and rag and throw it on the pile from a distance. Hope you're feeling better soon!

Dang Ben-Doesn't seem to be anything else that needs to be said-
Get well soon, and be careful with the solder irons now.

I used to think ambulances were for only the sickest of the sick, but after running ambulance calls with the fire dept for a few years and seeing some of the BS reasons people call the ambulance-I don't hesitate when somebody I know should seek medical attention. Besides its almost a ticket right into the ER bypassing the waiting room (depends on your priority and how busy the ER is of course, but it usually does help).
I mean one time we transported a girl to the hospital because she had some minor stomach cramps-the real reason was she didn't want to work (cleaning lady) that night for her demanding employer. There are people that were involved in bad accidents I mean involving rollover, etc), but would refuse to go to get checked out-its nuts.
Another good reason not to drive yourself, is as you mentioned-its a safety issue-if you pass out before you get there (whatever the reason for driving to the ER is), well that could be pretty bad.

    Again-get well soon-Peace.

Get Well Soon! Ask for morphine. Keep the arm elevated to reduce circulation.
That should help a little with the pain but remember not to bring the arm down.
Keep it still maybe a sling?

I know exactly how you fell bro. I had a half pound of black power ignite 1' from my face, it liquefied the flesh on my face and burned off every last hair on my face, everything was gone. The only hair I had left was on my head which was a big melted ball. The worst part, getting the hot nurse to scrub the embedded asphalt pieces out of my face, that hurt like a mo-fo.

    Best of luck healing fast.

Itchy itchy itchy. I had to bring my youngest daughter to school, and her teachers asked what I did. Well I told them "something stupid" they laughed, and one replied "sounds like something my husband would do". The others nodded in agreement. I think these kinda wounds are male only type of injury's:o

Just reading this thread puts shivers down my spine

Burn pain is the worst........had 3rd degree burns from calf to my toes.....hot roofing tar no less...helper hit a roof ledge and 1/2 a bucket onto me leg..doesnt matter what they give ya it still hurts like a ****

they gave up after giving me 6 shots and i was still screamin .........

even worse was the debriding (removing dead skin and tissue from the burned area). Nurse would roll up a towel and tell me to bit on it and scream if I wanted to.....2 weeks of pure hell...........

best of luck for a speedy recovery..........rule 1 KEEP IT CLEAN and keep movement to a min if its around a joint area during healing....
