Need help with B&K 507 and CK 1.1 keypad

Hello all,
Thanks to suggestions I received on this forum a few years back, I have a B&K 507 S2 receiver as the "brains" of my home theater. When our house was built, I had a second zone sent out to the deck and always used a Niles volume control for same. The only drawback with the volume control is that I had to come into the living room to change the source. Luckily for me, the installer also ran Cat5 wiring that was homerun back to the receiver so that I could upgrade at some point in the future.
Recently, I purchased a B&K CK 1.1 keypad to replace the volume control. I also purchased a Speakercraft infrared emitter that I use from Control Out 4 on the 507 to control the CD player. I have been able to program the keypad to select the source and control the functions that I desire, yet the LED light on the front of the CK 1.1 is functioning improperly. It is supposed to be on when zone B is selected and, at present, it is only on when zone A is turned on. It never comes on when zone B is selected.
I have read through the sections of the manual which should cover this, and cannot figure out where I went wrong. There must be a setting that I'm missing and/or switched, and I thought that perhaps someone here could chime in on what I'm doing wrong. Thanks in advance for your assistance!

Congrads on the setup.
the led light is in programming. You can change how long it stays on. I believe you have it set to 0. Change the timing and the light will come on.

Dan,
Thanks for the reply, and also past due thanks as being one of the many who recommended me purchasing the 507 in the first place.
Just so that I can clarify what you're suggesting...I was under the impression that the light timing area of the programming was in reference to how long the menu screen was backlit. The "light" which I'm referring to in my initial post is simply the on/off green LED light in the lower right hand corner of the faceplate on the CK 1.1.
It must have to do with how the 507 is interpretting the Control Out 1 setting. Per the B&K 507 manual, the default setting for Control Out 1 is "phones". If I have it set to "phones" or "Zone A" and zone A is on, the green LED lights up. If I change the Control Out 1 setting to "RS-232" or "Off", the green LED light does not come on as zone A is turned on. There is no Control Out 1 setting for "Zone B" and, regardless of whichever Control Out 1 setting I select, the green LED light on the face of the keypad does not light up when Zone B is turned on.
Clear as mud??
Thanks again,

I have a Ref 20/ CT600 system:
That led light is 100% controlled by voltage on the status wire- it's not in the CK 1.1 programming at all. Let me check the manual, but worst case you'll just have to wire the status line over to the 12 volt trigger for Zone B.Gallo Ref 3.1 : Bryston 4b SST : Musical fidelity CD Pre : VPI HW-19

Thanks! I thought that it was more than likely hardware related, as I have been trying in vain to correct this issue by changing the software settings. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

OK, looks like the status (aka control) line from that RJ-45 port for the keypad is tied to Zone 1. If you look in the 507 S2 manual you can see the pinout for the port.
Now, the keypad does not generate RS-232 and if you don't need to send the status of Zone A on receiver to the keypad (input, volume, loudness, etc), the keypad does not need to accept rs-232. So that leaves IR, power, ground and status/control. Wire the status/control line from the keypad to the Control 2 on the receiver and set control 2 to Zone B in the setup. Wire the the IR line from the keypad to either of the IR inputs (I believe that they're summed, so it doesn't really matter which). For power, you can just use a wallwart, or pull it off pin 1 on the RJ-45 jack. Same thing for the ground (pins 3&6).
Note that you cannot use the control ports for powering the keypad- they're 12 volt, but the keypad pulls 75ma and they only supply 50ma.Gallo Ref 3.1 : Bryston 4b SST : Musical fidelity CD Pre : VPI HW-19

Unc,
You're the man for analyzing my dilemna from afar...problem is, I don't have access to extra wires "in the wall" to wire the infrared outs from the keypad...unless, of course, I utilize a pair from the Cat5 wire that are null.
What really ticks me off is that the 507 and CK 1.1 can't work together w/o any extra-curricular effort. They come from the same factory, so what's the BFD? Of course, that may be too much to ask...then again, the manuals for B&K aren't all that user friendly either.
Thanks much for your assistance,

OK, first thing tomorrow, give B&K CS a call and tell them that you want the 12 volt control/status line on the RJ-45 jack to follow the Zone B status, not Zone A. They may know a trick I don't.
If it can only follow Zone A, then you've got two choices- clip the jack off the wire that you plug into the AVR or get yourself a RJ-45 keystone jack- Either way will let you break out the wires and route them as I suggest above.Gallo Ref 3.1 : Bryston 4b SST : Musical fidelity CD Pre : VPI HW-19

Thanks again for the suggestion.
I just sent off an email to B&K explaining my situation and asking how I can get the control/status line to follow the zone B status. If they respond in a manner that solves the issue, I will post it here in order to make it easier for the next person with a similar issue.
