1's and the SRS2's are great for normal rooms. The 1.2's and 2.3's need room to breath IMHO
Please. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Make sure to include who you are, and you are from Polk so I don't delete your email. Also I am now physically unable to work on any projects. If you need help let these guys know. There are many people who will help if you let them know where you are.

Yep, the scale of the 1cs absolutely fills a 2000 cube room. The big boys need more space.

So, was that you Fatbrando (the winning bidder)? Is that considered a good price for these, for future reference ... ?

If you're with us Disinob (ebay winner). Keep us updated on how they look and sound. They never got back to me if they came with the connecting cable anyway. Best of luck and keep on Polkin'...

1C's hell yeah! They can get up to $600 easily.
Like I said above 1C's, and SRS II's are really top performers. 1.2's, and 2.3's are great, but really need room to breath.

Wow, that was the figure I had in mind actually, so I was thinking it looked like a bargain, but if they didn't get back to Fatbrando about the cable, they might not have been a very serious outfit. Anyway, I'm still trying to figure out ceiling speakers on my other thread ... it was nice watching the auction though, just for the heck of it. I hope we hear from the mysterious Disinob at some point!

Cable, smable, you can use any IC with the collar off the RCA connector for pin/blade connections. $300 for a pair of what appear to be minty 1Cs is a great deal. For perspective, I walked into a B&W dealer and wanted to audition some speakers. They asked me what I had, then suggested they had no speakers that could really compete, but if I wanted to improve my system, I ought to try out the Mac separates in the $60K room. I don't know if they were being honest or just hustling me out of there. I do know that SDAs are a different animal from any conventional speaker I've heard.

    Well hello all from Disinob!

I've been lurking around these forums for about three years now and my compliments to you all. I have never seen a more friendly, helpful community, and I'm glad now to perhaps be able to participate. Up to now I never had a lot to say since I didn't have any real cool Polk gear.

Well, now I do and I'm a happy, happy boy!

I did not see this thread until today, (sorry Fatbrando...). I just had to bid, they're so... so... well, just so pretty. The sound of course is legendary and now I get to hear them in my own living room and... damn I got a good deal! I love the recession!

I have not spoken with the seller yet but I'm pretty sure I'm gonna need an interconnect cable since it is not listed in the auction. I'll be making the drive from San Diego to Long Beach to pick up the speakers this weekend so I'll let y'all know next week how they are.

If I may so impose, a couple of questions. So these are 1c's... I had noticed that the mids seemed to be closer to the bass radiator than on every other picture I had seen. Is that what proves that they are 1c's? Also, If I need the cable, it's the pin blade, not the blade blade that can easily be picked up on ebay? And one more thing, the 1c's have the SL2000 tweeters don't they, so is there any need to check out the RDO904's? (C'mon, you knew that was coming).

Thanks in advance for any information you all can provide. It is greatly appreciated. I have enjoyed reading the posts here for years and am glad that I may have something to contribute in the future.

Welcome to the SDA club...yep those are Studio 1Cs and look to be in great shape.

    http://www.polksda.com/sda1c-studio.shtml

You can make your own cable as suggested above.

The replacement tweeter is the RD0 - 194 - 1, SL2000 replacement. I suggest you listen to the stock tweeters before making the plunge. Many hate them, but I never had a real problem with them...replaced them anyway.

They like power and make sure it's a common ground amp.

    Enjoy.

Well I picked up the speakers on Saturday and they seem to be in near perfect condition. The interconnect was not included in the auction so I'll have to wait until I find one before I can check out the sound and report back.

Thanks for the welcome Ron, Kex and Ben and Ron thanks for the tip for using the rca connection for the pin connector. I would not have thought of that.

Yep, all you need is the pin connection. The blade on this model SDA is an anchor.
