Dell Precision 360 Desktop

3.0ghz processor
2 gig memory
3.5" floppy
16X DVD-ROM
48X CD-RW
120gb hard drive
ATI Quadro video card
Windows XP Professional

Includes original XP disc in case you need to reformat.

There is something wrong with this PC, the USB ports are not working. I don't have the time right now to figure it out. If you want to just skip trouble shooting and replace the mobo, they can be had for $15 + shipping on ebay all day long. I've been watching them a while but never bothered to replace it. Everything else works fine. This PC does have 2 SATA jacks for hard drives, so it would make a great home server for someone if you didn't need the USB function. I'll include two ps2 to USB adapters for the mouse and keyboard.

I'd prefer to keep it local but will ship at your expense. I'd like $175 for it. I have 7 computers currently and really don't need this. I'll have 2 Dell laptops up for sale soon as well.

Local sale would be preferred.

bag, what Dell laptop(s) FS do you have, if you don't mind me asking?
I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.

Since there aren't many locals I'll drop this to $140 to sweeten it up for someone that has to travel a bit.

Have you ever reinstalled since the USB began acting up? Sometimes, it's just XP updates breaking drivers. Me hates when that happens.

Also, PCI USB cards are cheap enough if there's any slots open.

    Just a thought.

Yes I've reinstalled and USB PCI cards don't work. Definitely an issue with the chipset that controls USB function. I'm not sure what Intel uses, but it was AMD then I'd say the southbridge is toast.

They aren't incredible machines by any means. Good for the day to day stuff, that's about it. Both are Dell Precision M50's with:

    2.0ghz processors
    1.0gb memory
    40 gb hard drive
    ATi video card
    Windows Xp Professional Licenses
    Reinstall discs

    BOTH need a new battery(ebay $20)
ONE needs the fan cleaned(it's noisy and I don't feel like taking it apart)
ONE has a wireless minipci card in it(not the noisy) one

I have 4 chargers and 1 docking station.

I currently have 7 full operational computers and I'm just trying to thin the herd. These 3 dells were extras, lightly used since I got them.

Nothing wrong with older Dells! They can be great workhorses that might well last forever ... I use an oldie Dell laptop for some basic stuff with W2K, you can't fault it for just keeping on going and going, even if the fan is rediculously noisy compared to the more polished laptops of today. If all you want to do is browse a bit with an extra screen on your desk with no fancy stuff, it's hard to go wrong, especially if they've already been "tested" for several years. If they were going to fail unexpectedly, they would most likely have already done so by now.

Nope, nothing wrong at all, they are built like tanks and will do whatever you want them to do. I just didn't want to get peoples hopes up looking for a deal on a killer gaming machine, cause that's not what they are for. They are EXCELLENT machines to keep track of finances, private documents, etc. for super cheap if you don't want to store it on your home desktop. Put everything on it, stick it in a fireproof safe and forget it.
