I know you can use a Cd player set on repeat to burn in interconnects..Can one use a Direct TV HD receiver the same way? If the receiver is on and connected to a pre amp and the pre amp is set to TV, would this have the same effect as using a CD player ,as it also could be left on for days........

It depends. If you think it will have the same effect it will, if not, it won't work as well.

William believes all cables sound the same, and there is no such thing as burnin.

I believe some people just can't hear it. 9 times out of 10 people describe the same exact thing when switching to my cables:)

I believe in suing good cables but have never heard of burning them in. Speakers maybe but cables?

But then you have to disturb the cables when you disconnect them and put them where you want them. Then your copper molecules will be in a different position than what they were during burn in.

I had to buy a specially charged shammie made from spun zenonite crystals......this insures that the copper molecules assume the correct molecular structure needed for the bestest sound.....and they let me pay the shammie off over 60 months..... score :D

While I believe a cable can add or subtract something from the overall sound of a system, I have never believed in cable "burn-in". I think it is more of my ears burning in to the new sound of the new cable.

I tried burning in my ears once, but I think the voltage I used was too high.
