Don't listen to these guys, cause nobody knows if marriage is for you except you. If you think it's for you, give it a shot. A real shot. I'd buy myself a lot of good toys ahead of time in case things don't pan out.

Just make sure you really know her, and her family. Look long and hard at her mom. After marriage she will(without having any control over this) turn into her mother. How does she handle things when they don't go well? Does she get upset? How long have you known her? Did you know who she was before you two started dating? Sorry about all the ?'s. You need to know the answers, but you don't need to post them.

Please. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Make sure to include who you are, and you are from Polk so I don't delete your email. Also I am now physically unable to work on any projects. If you need help let these guys know. There are many people who will help if you let them know where you are.
    Thanks

Congratulations Bjorn! I look at my marriage as some of the happiest times of my life. We broke up eventually because of unwillingness to compromise and too much dependence on the other. The best advice I can offer is to make absolutely sure that you each have your own separate lives. You need to each be successful and fulfilled before you can make each other happy. Congratulations and I wish you tremendous success and happiness.

The OP says he's getting married. Some of y'all are responding as though he's asking whether or not he should get married.

Here's some actual marriage advice -- compatibility, communication, and compromise. If the two of you can handle those three, you'll be fine.

    Congrats.

lol the tags and many of the replies in this thread are hilarious!

I guess to address some, erm "concerns," I didn't post the thread expecting serious answers or any decision-making advice, but mainly just for conversation purposes. i'm going to marry her regardless and I'm very excited :D

I guess to answer some questions:
-We've been dating for over 5 years
    -I'm 24 y/o
-We bought a house that will be done in a couple months
    -No, we haven't lived together
-Yes i know her family very well, and if she turns out to be anything like them, that's just fine
-Yes, I'm already buying all my toys (minus the UPA-7 which i hope i can get later ) :D

Good luck and enjoy! I've been married 8 years this coming Tuesday and can say that there a some definite challanges in marriage, but I'm married to my best friend...and she fortunatley got sucked into this audio thing somehow.... (Thanks to DKG999 and Heiney9...not sure how)

Moral of the story.... how good are your selling skills? Make sure you get her involved in this insanity that we call audio.

Ok, once a thread is tagged "no more bj's" there isn't much I can do, but I'll give it a try.
The best advice I can give you, is: learn how to argue, or better yet, learn how to prevent an augment from transforming into a huge fight.
However worked up you're getting mid argument .....
    1) never bring up her mother
    2) never mention her looks
    3) never talk trash about her girlfriends, especially if their overweight ..
    4) never, ever (ever (ever)) mention one of your old girlfriends, and how they behaved better in similar situations.

If I'm to translate it to Bj economics (thus keeping up with the spirit of the thread ;))
each violation will cost you a month. and there is no such thing as concurrent sentencing in a marriage. :D

and finally.. Congrats man!, Getting married is the best thing I ever did!
