    Hello,
No I don't believe it is very common and shouldn't be an issue for most owners.

    hello sda,
freeman was able to determine that the magnet had shifted on your driver and he was unable to repair it. However, he did find an original mw6501 in his area so we're sending it out to you today.
    Regards, ken

    wow!
Please. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Make sure to include who you are, and you are from Polk so I don't delete your email. Also I am now physically unable to work on any projects. If you need help let these guys know. There are many people who will help if you let them know where you are.
    Thanks

    Ken,

Like NotaSuv said, you guys are great. I am really looking forward to hearing these speakers with two healthy drivers.

I'll let you know how everything sounds once I get them back together.

    Thanks,

Is this a common issue with these drivers? I saw where someone preemptively epoxied the magnet to the speaker basket. Is this something that we all should consider?
    Thanks
    Stan

All of my MW6501 drivers were frozen (on my left speaker) and I got the replacements today. $150 is a lot of money for replacements!

Way to go Polk!! Ken, Great Service. This IS one of the largest reasons I'm a loyal Polk fan and now have joined the Polk community. I was a Klipsch fanatic for years but now they've outsourced all their stuff to china and their products have lost the quality of past years. I've sold off my Klipsch stuff and I'm into the Polks again.
Thanks for continued great customer support and an awesome product. Viva la Polk Audio!

This is to report that the SDA 2's are now put back together and they sound ... (wait for it) ... GREAT! The new driver made the difference as the audio frequency range is now fully reproduced. I listened to Morph the Cat just to make sure - this is the most bass-heavy recording I have - and the whole house was rumbling.

Ken, once again, a big THANKS to you and everybody at Polk Audio. This has been a very satisfying customer service experience.

    Happy Holidays To All
