I was just watching UFC unleashed on Spike, and saw the 'tribute' at the start of the show. I always enjoyed watching him fight.

That guy was a machine. It's a shame to see something like this happen. RIP.

Sounds like he was doing exactly what he wanted, no better way to die then doing that.

Yeah, its a great loss. Can't feel super sorry for him though as Ron says he was doing what he loved and he new the possible outcome of his wild adventures based on quotes from the past.

"I plan on going so deep into the desert that any failure of my equipment could cost me my life,"

    Thats living on the edge!

side mma comment: damn WEC event was postponed tonight until Nov 5th because of hurrican Ike and it's not going to be anywhere near Florida. Looks like they jumped the gun on that one.

Such a shame. I enjoyed watching him fight. So young. Damn, but he went out his way.

    RIP

    Wow! This is a shocker.

I liked to watch the guy fight as well. I always thought he was cool because he looked as clumsy and awkward as all get out but usually wound up whoopin' some dudes ****!

I read about this yesterday. I've never been a reall MMA fan, but this guy seemed like a real bad ****. Really intelligent, as well.
I never had it like this where I grew up. But I send my kids here because the fact is you go to one of the best schools in the country: Rushmore. Now, for some of you it doesn't matter. You were born rich and you're going to stay rich. But here's my advice to the rest of you: Take dead aim on the rich boys. Get them in the crosshairs and take them down. Just remember, they can buy anything but they can't buy backbone. Don't let them forget it. Thank you.Herman Blume - Rushmore

I suppose, but he died a slow painful death out there, dying from heat exposure isn't the way to go.

It's not quite like running into a bridge abutment going 120 mph on a crotchrocket.
My equipment sig felt inadequate and deleted itself.
