I want to sell my speakers BUT........

Ever been ripped off or ever have someone try to rip you off?
Everytime I fill up my gas tank! But I want to know how many bad LSi's are out there? I'm sure if someone bought those expensive speakers and wanted to try to sell them and came across this site that more than likely the person is legit. If they were broke for any reason with the great c/s from polk I'm sure they would have fixed them if they came across this site first.
I mean I don't my broke norelco shaver and try to find thier fourm site and hock it off:D
Heck just buy asking folks jumped all over him. Big Mac your given a pass by me buddy. You said your sorry in so many ways.Retired Onkyo 520 (returned broken HK 247)

I guess the actual problem is those that have a problem with the ones that are breaking the rules, not the ones that actually have broken them.
I get the apology.........fine.........the point remains (for those that don't get it) that he DID put an ad out to sell the speakers around the rules, albeit indirectly........
Basically, you don't get to mention jack **** about what you want to sell until you've posted 25 times here. If you can't muster 25 posts that aren't lame **** like 'i agree,' or 'you too?' then i wouldn't bother even signing up in the first place.
That's not jumping all over someone........that's saying follow the rules THAT YOU READ YET STILL DECIDE TO POST AROUND........seems pretty simple to me.........comment comment comment comment. bitchy. -
You're analogy and poor examples really have no merit to what was kindly expressed. And while I agree with you that Polk does have good customer service, they are not obligated to repair defective products being sold by a third party without cost. Regardless if it came across this board or not.
If he bought them retail and thought something was wrong he can handle that before he decides to sale. I would, if my car is under 36K I always get stuff fixed and would before I sell it. I know people sale as is but there is honorable folks out there. Folks here assumed he was a bad guy just by asking a question. Shame on you.Retired Onkyo 520 (returned broken HK 247)

I'll offer a few suggestions:
1. )Have the moderators "moderate" the first so many posts of a new member. I'm talking about where a newbie posts, and its not visible until the moderator releases it. I would imagine most forum apps have that capability. At least in the Flea Market. Business as usual in the other areas.
2. )Have new account requests manually verified / approved before posting can occur. Ensure the newbie specifically acknowledge the rules (not as an afterthought) before being allowed to post at all (if not already-I can't remember the process-perhaps it wasn't obvious enough ??).
Additionally I would say to all members to read the rules and follow them. What I've observed recently especially with newbie posts, either where they deliberately broke the rules, innocently broke the rules, defended themselves, or just posted as a newbie and were immediately assumed to be a suspicious post; is that members old and newer are responding to the OP while at the same time, in most, if not all cases, hypocritically, in a 'Do As I say, Not As I Do' type of stance, knowingly breaking rules 4 and 7. And you can't tell that most are obeying #6 on the forum in general (opinions are one thing, but... ).
I am not saying that all members are breaking the rules, just that many, or at least those involved in actually responding to the posts in question, are. I've seen many respesctful and law-abiding posts by the defender and existing members, but there is always-always-always somebody breaking rules #4 and #7..
I just want to remind that there is more that just the minimum 25 post rule at issue here. You can't enforce one rule and iognore the rest.4) No fighting. Personal attacks, trouble making, inappropriate language, or any threatening or offensive behavior will not be tolerated.
VERY IMPORTANT...
If you have a problem with another member's comments in a posted thread, DO NOT respond with any further comments that will aggravate the situation. Members have two options of recourse....
Email the moderators, directing them to the individual and thread that the problem occurs in.
Resolve the problem between both of you via PERSONAL email.
Reacting to a hostile post with more hostility puts YOU in jeopardy, and risks your account from being deleted. To be objective and fair about situations where forum members are attacking each other, BOTH members' accounts will be removed from our forum (and no, we don't care who started it).
...
6) Do not brand bash. We're all in this together. Discuss what you like and dislike. But don't bash someone or something because you don't like it.
7) Be respectful of new members. If it was only you and me on this forum, we'd have no fun and the whole industry would collapse. Fact is, home theater is an exploding industry. More and more people all the time are discovering the joys of DVD and audiophile music. Welcome the newbies. For they will encourage industry growth, which will result in better prices and better equipment for all us heathens.
Just my thoughts
Peace

On some forums, a random sale post would be pulled in minutes. Forum rules are
there for a reason. The Forum has a for sale, but that's not it's purpose. Take it
to Craig's list or EBAY. THIS IS A SUPPORT FORUM.
We get spammed by cellphone scammers, 1 shot sellers, etc.
Sliding one in under the radar is not the way to do business here.
Now, on the other hand, we maybe have been a bit too sarcastic
and have done a couple of "pre-emptive stikes" Some were justified,
some a bad call. Such is life. Welcome to the internet. In the end,
it's just words on a screen."The legitimate powers of government extend to such acts only as are injurious to others. But it does me no injury for my neighbour to say there are twenty gods, or no god. It neither picks my pocket nor breaks my leg." --Thomas Jefferson -
Is every other thread going to be about the nuances of the Flea Market??? I might as well drink two pints of NyQuil and call it a day.I never had it like this where I grew up. But I send my kids here because the fact is you go to one of the best schools in the country: Rushmore. Now, for some of you it doesn't matter. You were born rich and you're going to stay rich. But here's my advice to the rest of you: Take dead aim on the rich boys. Get them in the crosshairs and take them down. Just remember, they can buy anything but they can't buy backbone. Don't let them forget it. Thank you.Herman Blume - Rushmore

When someone attempts to get around the 25 post rule, one or 2 replies should straighten the situation out, not 3 pages of piling on. Turn the person away and ask Justin to lock the thread. No need to be rude or even waste much time in explanations. For obvious reasons, Polk would prefer this place to be a positive experience (I'm guessing ).

Dumb question: how do you tell when you have 25 posts? I have no idea how many I posted. What is the member sales rating?
-
Look under your screen name and as of this post, you have 77 OnlyPolk.........
You could officially sell something.....yay.........yet no one has nay idea who you are with 77 posts in 2 years..........but you could if you wanted...........comment comment comment comment. bitchy. -
What is the member sales rating?
It is a feed back rating for transactions that take place via the CP Flea Market. Click on someone who has a positive rating and you can see their feedback from transactions with other members."Just because youre offended doesnt mean youre right." - Ricky Gervais

You are so off base here Kchill it's not even laughable. Your ramblings have nothing to do with the gist of what's been conveyed. Shame on you for totally missing the point. Welcome to ignore.
Sorry if you can't be a honest person. Big Mac was...applogized and all. I just don't find it that deep and i'm sure many others would too. But I guess in your world there is no mistakes.Retired Onkyo 520 (returned broken HK 247)

What he Said!
Come on People, Leave the Newbies Alone!!!
Not all of them are here to sell stuff!
I think the minimum posts to sell something should be 200 posts.
The board should make it impossible for you to submit a post that contains words like the following for the first couple of days if you are a newbie.
"For Sale"
"forsale"
"@"
"$"
"selling"
Yes, I understand that they may use one of these quoted words in normal conversation. It's just too bad.
I'm sure the system does not have preferences to do this or Justin would have done something like this already. I would guess that Polk would have to have the authors of this program do some custom programming.

As a fellow Jersey guy you should know how ignorant people are!! Do you really think it will matter if its 25 or 200 posts? Or are you just saying in general it should be 200 posts? These guys disregarded the rules knowing what they were doing and didnt care if there were consequences, and that really pisses me off.
I WONDER IF THERE ARE CONSEQUENCES AFTER THEY ARE REPORTED/FOUND OUT, IF NOT IT WILL CONTINUE TO HAPPEN.

people here are really judgmental especially the folks with 6000+ (**cough**). I got over 25 posts in a single day. They thought i wanted to sell something on here and started "dibbing" on me. Hahaha. Sorry old folks, you're no Polkie then. I ain't here to sell shish. You're all wrong.
D@mn that felt good.
I hope you have learned something or have/can contribute to the forum because there is alot of geat people and information here. I am not possitive what to make out of your post but it kinda seems to me you could be all wrong yourself.

No need to apologize. I can assure you my integrity is quite secure on CP. I've got a few transactions under my name here as an example and they all went smooth. My ebay record is just as good. A 100% rating with several hundred transactions. But that's not the point here. You just don't get it. Not even close Kchill. Obviously, you're not that deep. Keep trying though little buddy. I'm out now and back in the box ya go.
No one cares about your ebay score or whatever else. All I said was this guy asked a question. He got grilled but its deep in your heart so I'll let you be. I'm a happy polkie, not a carear seller.Retired Onkyo 520 (returned broken HK 247)
