Polk wants $60 for a speaker? After market speakers from PE go for alot cheaper than that. Why can't one of those be used instead of Polk?

    Bill

Because they are not designed for that cabinet. What is the model of the frozen driver? MW 6500, 6503, 6600? BTW if you told Polk you were a CP member you would have received it for $48 shipped;)
    Ben
Please. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Make sure to include who you are, and you are from Polk so I don't delete your email. Also I am now physically unable to work on any projects. If you need help let these guys know. There are many people who will help if you let them know where you are.
    Thanks

Ben - it's a MW6600X and Polk offered the 6605 as a replacement for $60. I guess I'll call back on Monday and see if I can get it at $48 shipped. It's the Monitor 10B speaker set that the guy from Calif called "Mint" and stated that the speakers worked fine when he shipped. I even tapped the end of the speaker with a hammer to get it loose, no luck, frozen solid.

    Thanx, Bill

I have a set of Monitor 10a's that I've had for a couple years now. I've been happy has can be with them...problem is, I had them stored at a friend's house for the almost the past year, air conditioned, humidity controlled, etc....for whatever reason, one of them is not producing any bass. Mids and tweeter work just fine, but alas, no bass!!! Any ideas on what could be the cause of this, and more-so, how to fix it?

Thanks guys. I love all of my Polk's, whether they be in my HT or in my car, they're oustanding speakers, as you all know :-)
    Receiver - JVC RX-7030V
    DVD - Momitsu V880-DX
    Center - Polk Audio CSi3
Mains - Polk Audio Monitor 10a
    Surrounds - Wharfedale WH-2
    Subwoofer - KLH ASW10-125C

I had Ben62670 do the crossovers on my Monitor 10's. After 10 hours of listening to them (music and BluRay movies) all I can say is WOW, the soundstage is amazing. I had my heart set on a set of SDA's but with the 10's now sounding so GOOD, maybe I'll put it off until a set falls into my lap. My area is over 6000 cu feet and the sound fills the room. I have Outlaw Audio M2200 200 watt mono blocks on the 10's and the clarity is amazing. These 10's easily handle all the HD audio formats (True HD, DTS Master HD, etc.). I now hear things in the background of these formats that just weren't there before. So the bottom line is, any of you out there with Monitor 10's, get the crossovers done (Dayton Audio products used)! It will be the best bang for the buck that you could ever spend!

3rd day of running the Monitor's and all I can say is "DOUBLE WOW"! They sound even better now and I do believe that they are burned in. Anybody who has a set of MONITOR 10's please get them upgraded. Once you hear them, they'll be the ONLY speakers that youi will ever own.

Ben did the job (10's and center) and I paid one price (parts, labor, and mailing), so please contact him for that info.

About 3.5 hours. My wife would think I was crazy to take a road trip to ATL for speakers.
I am a Shipping Manager so I can ship stuff around the world dirt cheap. I got the list of parts I need from this site. I think I will do my SDA2B's 1st, then the 10A's.
I see the parts online at Parts Express, but in your expert opinion, what brands should I use for the SDA2B's? (I want to go cheap...I know usually the more expensive ones are better...but I need to go cheap).

I really have a lot of respect for the Dayton's. I have used them on the highs before, and they sound great. Also the Sonicaps can be had for about 3 times the price. On the highs this isn't too expensive, but if you want to keep the price down I would go with Dayton's. They do sound real nice.
