LSi9's and Adcom 535

Hello,

I have an Adcom 535L and will soon have some LSi9's. What is the best way to hook them up? Should I simply use one channel "A" or biamp by driving the low and high voicecoils separately with "A" and "B"? I know that this amp isn't a lot of power but it should be stable enough to drive the 9's at low to moderate levels. Anyone else try this combo?

Thanks

Shouldn't really matter, especially if your speakers are close to the amp. The 535 is a 2 channel amp with 2 pairs of speaker outputs. if you wire it the latter method, you're basically biwiring the speakers.

As long as you don't expect rock concert volumes, the amp will be fine. I used a 2535 (basically, 2 535's in one box) and it's been fine driving LSi series speakers.

Exactly....so the question is: Do you want to bi-wire it? FYI - there are a LOT of threads debating this theory.

I would suggest not bi-wiring. I would suggest replacing the metal connectors on the LSi9 with a good quality wire jumper, then set back and enjoy the music.

I just replaced my jumper with a coat hanger ;)

So I can have my RTi6's and LSi9's hooked up at the same time as long as I don't run them at the same time. Is that correct? The reason I would want them together is because the 6's are for HT and the 9's are for music. Someday I will replace the CSi5 and 6's for an LSiC and not have all these speakers next to my TV.

    Thanks everyone.

Is there a speaker switch on your amp?
Please. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Make sure to include who you are, and you are from Polk so I don't delete your email. Also I am now physically unable to work on any projects. If you need help let these guys know. There are many people who will help if you let them know where you are.
    Thanks

Yes there is independent A+B switches. So I think as long as I don't have both of them activated the amp will see the load of just one of the speakers and I can have both of them hooked up.

Yup. You'll be fine then. You probably won't hurt anything even if you do run both sets of speakers. Of course the resulting sound will be less then desireable ;)
