Well I was up late last night, and with all the talk of using coat hangers as speaker cable I figured I would give it a go. Well I collected 12 hangers, and straightened them out as best I could. I then soldered the hangers together. They just don't solder well. I hooked them up being careful that they did not touch. No sound. Nothing. I checked all the connections, and I didn't see any problems. I will try it again when I have some free time. The next experiment I will try the metal coat hangers. The plastic ones just don't cut it:eek::D
Please. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Make sure to include who you are, and you are from Polk so I don't delete your email. Also I am now physically unable to work on any projects. If you need help let these guys know. There are many people who will help if you let them know where you are.
Thanks
Ben

Time to take a break from soldering, the fumes are getting to you.

Ben, they need to break in; leave them playing for 200 hours and you'll be able to hear something.

Why are you trying to make coat hangers into speaker cables? I don't think most of them will hold a current very well.

Did you use the right kind of flux? Plastic requires water soluble flux. :D

You need to use wire hangers and leave them hanging in the closet. This gets them up off the floor and saves from having to buy isolators. Also, you can hang various articles of clothing on them to provide dampening. This will also have the added bonus of insulating the hangers and keeping the electrons flowing smoothly and give you a much better "presentation" on your sound stage.

    Keep us informed!
