Rich, very sorry to hear of Norm passing. RIP, Norm.
I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.

I am still rocking to the LSi15's that I purchased from him a couple of years ago. It was great meeting him and you at your house for the first time when I picked them up. He will be missed by many and my sincere condolences go out to his family and friends. I truely believe Norm is in a better place - grieve for our loss but celebrate his gain.

Well, I just pulled off the impossible by doing a double-blind comparison all by myself, purely by virtue of the fact that I completely and stupidly forgot what I did last. I guess that getting old does have its advantages after all :D

I had the good fortune to meet Norm at his house and then over at Rich's place near Chicago last year. Norm was a true gentleman and an avid audiophile. He has a wonderful ear for a system's performance. I bought some gear from him over the past couple of years. He was such a nice person to talk with and be around. I wish that I had the opportunity to know him better. I received the bad news in an email from Rich and another from his family. I just couldn't believe it.

Rich, I want to thank you for introducing me to your friend Norm. Please accept my condolences. My thoughts and prayers are with Norm, his family and his friends, especially Rich. I hope the sad and broken hearts find peace.

Norm was one of those guys that was a fixture here but you'd never know it. He never made negative waves. He never really stood out but he reached out to many, many people in one way or another. I was starting to wonder if everything was OK 'cause I hadn't seen him on here in a long while. Then the next day this was posted.

This really is a drag. He was a cool dude and heaven is a cooler place now and this world is a bit more empty. Godspeed Norm, I barely knew you through an Internet forum but you were one awesome dude with tons to offer anyone.

My old job is supposed to be having a "happy hour" for me tonight at a local watering hole. I'm gonna have a moment for Norm I think.

Has anyone put together anything to have sent to the family courtesy of the forum? I can't really set anything up myself 'cause I trashed all my credit cards but I'll donate to the cause.

I did not hear about this sad news until today...Norm was a good friend and a great person. Even though he'd been struggling with health problems for years he was always happpy, upbeat, and willing to give advice or lend an ear. His generosity, kindness, and overall good cheer knew no boundries. I am a better person for having known him. I will miss him.

This is sad, sad news. My heart goes out to everybody - family and friends.
I never had it like this where I grew up. But I send my kids here because the fact is you go to one of the best schools in the country: Rushmore. Now, for some of you it doesn't matter. You were born rich and you're going to stay rich. But here's my advice to the rest of you: Take dead aim on the rich boys. Get them in the crosshairs and take them down. Just remember, they can buy anything but they can't buy backbone. Don't let them forget it. Thank you.Herman Blume - Rushmore

Richie, when I read the news I felt heart sick. Heart sick for you and Norm as well as his family. I know what he meant to you and I can't imagine your pain. On the few occasions I got to coorespond with Norm I felt the warmth of his genuine humaness.

My condolenses and prayers my friend, call me if you need to talk.

Thank you all for the kind words, thoughts and prayers. I printed the thread for his mother to read and it was very comforting to her.

My bud Norm was quite the planner, and had allowed for the worst. He had told me where his will would be left, as he did not want to add worry to his mother/family. He only provided me clues to his 'putie password though, which I eventually figured out and am posting this from. He was thoughtful with a sense of humor to the very end.

Anyone that wishes to send something can send it directly to the family.
