How to use CATV jacks for digital coax audio

Well my computer is in one room, my main stereo in another, and my ghetto stereo in another, Well I wanted the ability to hook up my puter to my DAC, and receiver. Fortunately I have my puter in the basement, and the cables are all wide open down here. I figured out which cable goes to which jack, and made an adapter from CATV to RCA. Hooked it up, and bingo digital broadcast;) I don't know how many jacks you could broadcast over, or how far you could run it. Digital cable/sat uses much higher bandwidth than audio so I see no problems with this.

Sounds good. When I throw parties- to hook up all my sound systems together, I've used an old Minidisc player to be the A to D converter from my DJ system. Then used cheap scrap coax cable, ran it out the window of one side of the house, up over the roof and back down into another window to feed one of the coax ins on the preamp of another sound system. Using RCA to F type adaptors on both ends. Works perfect! :D

Truth be told thats how it looks in my basement now. I have not gone the finished route yet. I was conducting a test of "the emergency digital audio broadcast system":D

That's interesting-I'll have to try that with my PC to my HT rig.
