I want to buy some white screen material off eBay then go to the home depot and build my own screen for under $120. Have any of you done this? I got a new Mitsubishi HC1500 that will be about 12 feet away.

Do you know any links to some quality screen material or guides for DIYS screens?

I've used blackout cloth with the last 2 projectors I've owned. Easy, cheap, and tweakable/paintable.

I have done this. I think I paid around $70 for a 110" piece. Works real well. My cheapo projector can cast a decent image even without full room darkness.

Please. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Make sure to include who you are, and you are from Polk so I don't delete your email. Also I am now physically unable to work on any projects. If you need help let these guys know. There are many people who will help if you let them know where you are.
    Thanks

Is screengoo the paint? I have seen one of my customers use the screen paint. It's pretty damn nice for the money. I think it's a great thing is you can't afford a good screen like a Stewart. I don't care for any other kind of screen but the paint was cool. You can have any size you want .

I gotta check out this screengoo.

Here is a DIY article using Screen Goo. It is well written and cost him about $250 including tools. I like that he takes into account aspects like wall texture and picture color.

for a really cheap and quick option untill you can get the better materials.

For a bright projector in a partially lit room - Sherwin williams color (gray screen) in flat lates interion house paint.

For a less than 2000 lumen projector - the whitest flat white paint you can get.

I have tried a few things and I have had my best results with Wilsonart laminate Matte White glued to a substraight attached with a french cleet.

all my materials less than $70.00

The nice thing with the size that you have picked out is that 4x8 sheet cut to size. No special order.

The problem that I have found with paint is that I allways got hot spots. Area that refects like it is still wet.
