Sounds like to me that you got overdosed.

This was at an Army hospital on base, so that sounds about par for the course. :p

Possibly, I have no idea. It was the strangest feeling in the world though. I honestly had to think about and force myself to breathe. Every couple of minutes I would slip off to sleep only to be woken by the nurse and told to breathe.

Yup...they gave you too much...same exact feeling here. I had to tell myself to breathe or it just wasnt going to happen.

If they committed a nurse to watch you full time in a presumably busy post-op recovery room, and you had to force yourself to breath, you got too much medication.

In response to 7.5 mg Vicoprofen:

    Cut them in half.

Damn, thats going to be a job as they are tiny. They are 7.5/20's where as the Vicodins were 7.5/500....so there is very little ibuprofen in the Vicoprofens...its almost all narcotic. I will try though :)

Crush it up and snort it. Shizelbs would approve that method. :p

Snorting is for wimps. Grab a spoon, melt it and inject it. (Please don't)

    It was worth a shot.

Short of grinding it up, and getting a very accurate scale to fill gel-caps, I think you're stuck with the 7.5 mg's.

Yeah... that addiction thing is real serious. I see a lot of addicts come through my store every day. They either don't know it yet or don't care yet. Its a terrible disease.

I could just see the look on the wifes face ( Who knows I even hate taking the narcotics , much less anything else ) as she walked in and I was on the kitchen table with my extremely accurate reloading electronic scale...loading up gelcaps with powder :D I would pay good money to see that reaction.

I have been on everything prescription under the sun for my back issues that were going on for 10+ years before I had surgery. After surgery, not even one issue. But, I had an allergic reaction to percocet and because of that, the doctor was nervous about a lot of other medications. So he put me on hydromorphone (pill form of morphine). IT WAS AWESOME!!!............I mean it worked great.

All vicodin does for me is make me sleep. I don't feel anything pleasurable. I've had to take it a couple of times over the past few years for tooth issues. The most severe pain I've ever felt in my life was getting an infection under a tooth that I just had a root canal performed on. It abcessed and it made my head feel like it was going to explode. If I owned a gun, I may have shot myself just to get rid of the pain. The dentist gave me 7.5 vicodin. The first one lasted for an hour or so, but then I felt like I had to take one every 30 minutes to dull the pain. I've still got a bunch of them left over, but have no desire to use them again unless I'm in extreme pain. Now the 800mb Ibeauprofen I have is another story...that stuff knocks out hangovers really well!
