You got a point but I was actually referring to the audio/video world right now.

Go back to 2 channel, you won't have anything to complain about.

If this is all you have to complain about, you're doing pretty good.

Well, there hasn't been much progress in boxcutter design lately either. ;)

Agree though, HT seems to be a stagnant thing right now.....2CH is in revival.

Bad few months. It seems I do more defending new technology then enjoying it.

Well Dan,thats because new technology means spending more money. Most are reluctant to do so right now, given the economy.Same old story....people want good audio/video,but at walmart prices.Gets harder and harder to convince people you get what you pay for.

    Hi mantis,

Sorry about your current lament with HT/Audio. I bought my HT 6.5 years ago and haven't looked at anything new since then... I guess I'm happy with the sound as it is.

I think tonyb said it well concerning the economy, but it's the choice of millions of new products vs the hundreds we had to pick from when I was growing up in the 60s and 70s. Back then you bought a Walkman, and not one of 10,000+ different mp3 players. My Dad bought TEAC and Marantz, without choosing among 150 major brands these days.

Sound reproduction is so good these days, it's hard to continue to sell new things that get much better than the average without breaking the bank. Hope you feel better soon.

Technologies are way too complicated for the average consumer--that's a downer for sure. You have to really do some research before you buy anything electronic these days, to make sure you've got something that will last awhile.

I saw a gal in Walmart trying to explain the difference in technologies with HDTV's to an old guy--the poor old man was LOST. I think he left more confused then when he arrived.
