I'm going to buy a Emotiva UPA-7 in the coming weeks and would like to be sure how i need to bi-amp them using a Harman Kardon AVR-340 as the pre-amp. I will be using 5 of the UPA-7 channels for the front 3 channels (2 channels to each Monitor 70 and a single one to the CS 2). Do i run a RCA y-splitter from the AVR-340 preout to 2 of the UPA-7 inputs for each speaker to be bi-amped? And then i just run speaker wire from 2 channels of the UPA-7 to each Monitor 70? Does it send the full range singnal to the speaker? What stops the tweeter from playing a full range signal, for example?

Yep - thats bout it. (don't forget to remove the jumper between the speaker terminals before you hook up the amp though)

y-cable to 2 inputs on the amp. speaker cable from one output to the top terminals, another speaker cable from the other output to the bottom terminals.

Your tweeter will not get a full range signal for the same reson it does not now. Inside the speaker the terminals go from the terminals, to the crossover to the speakers. The crossover is what protects your speakers from getting signals they were not designed to reproduce.

    Have fun,
