OK i give up...you people are well far of what i asked in the first place.....basically why i got 2 different answers on speakers........from Polk CS
That was the only question........you can sit there and say..well the Polk speakers (woofers or Mid/woofers)are called ....basically what ever you want...who cares!!!!!
They are great speakers...I've probably had these....for many years before you people have had them.......i know all the crap with these.......I ask a question about some Polk CS responces.......and I get a pile of ****............like i said...everybody get a grip........ -
Funny, you seem to be the only one losing their grip here.Political Correctness'.........defined

For a 26 year old speaker series that was discontinued 17 years ago, it is not too much of a stretch to expect that most, if not all, of the recently hired Polk customer service reps might not be well versed in SDA culture. This is true of any long discontinued product at any company. You simply spoke to a more knowlegeable CS rep on your second call.
The best thing is to do some research here on the forum. That often negates the need for calling Polk CS, whose time is primarily consumed with dealing with issues pertaining to their current products. The next best thing is to ask for one of the "old timers" in CS who is familiar with the SDA series.Proud and loyal citizen of the Digital Domain and Solid State Country! -
Just for S&G's I did a quick check on what a different company calls them. This company wasn't in business 20 years ago, so we're dealing with current terminology. The Taylo 7U offers excellent midrange qualities and high sensitivity in a slim tower speaker system. They use two 7" Seas Magnesium cone mid/bass drivers and a 1" Scanspeak Revelator tweeter.Political Correctness'.........defined

If you are so knowledgeable and know more than "99& [sic] of the people on this site , why ask questions of us?
You have probably had your body for a very long time, but any competent medical professional could tell you more about it than you would ever want to know. Length of ownership does not equate to depth and breadth of knowledge.Proud and loyal citizen of the Digital Domain and Solid State Country! -
I hate to point out the obvious, but in this case it seems necessary.
If you know all that you indicate, you would have already known that your SDA's use two different mid-driver models and wouldn't have had to call Polk CS to ask.Political Correctness'.........defined

When I called Polk for MY replacement MW6511 (just this last Friday) I told the Polk customer service guy I needed a replacement driver for my SDA 1C and he immediately said "OK, that's gonna be an MW6510 or MW6511". There was definitely no confusion.
Great customer service they have at Polk, IMO, I dealt with them one other time when my RTi150's arrived with a broken base from shipping. These were probably the 2 least painful dealings with any company's customer service I've had, both times they were knowledgeable and hooked me right up... Well come to think of it, the guy did give the wrong answer when I asked if they'd found any mysterious forgotten SRS 1.2's sitting in the warehouse in boxes which they could sell me... ****. -
Bob,
How about you let Polk build the speakers. They have been doing it for awhile and seem to be pretty good at it.
I'm willing to bet that if they used two different drivers, they probably had a reason for doing so. Since Polk designed them, MAYBE they have a reason that might not be readily apparent to you. Seem reasonable? I really don't know what the answer is...more to the point, I don't care.
As far as replacements, for the love of god, does it really matter what the designation is? If it works for you and you are happy, rock on.

Good lord..just because Polk is calling them.."mid bass drivers".....dose not mean everybody else is...people use 6'/12 drivers as there woofer all the time...means nothing...once again....whats the point??????????
//////\\\\\\\Please. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Make sure to include who you are, and you are from Polk so I don't delete your email. Also I am now physically unable to work on any projects. If you need help let these guys know. There are many people who will help if you let them know where you are.
Thanks

Ok, finally here's an answer to your stupid question..............we don't work for Polk and we aren't the ones who told you 2 different kinds of info. Call the (2) people back at Polk that you talked to and ask them. Please start ranting to someone at Polk CS and see how far you get.
There have been a lot clueless people that visit these boards and you are most clueless person with the worst attitude I've run into in a very long time. If you are unhappy about the answers you get from Polk...................then take it up with them. I don't have a fu*king clue why you got (2) different stories. I don't give f@ck about you or your speakers. Do what ever you want.................put 'em in the bath tub and listen to them for all I care.
You have gotten good solid advice and yet you want to continue to troll around here arguing for no apparent reason other than to argue.
Have a nice day......I know I am
