    update please!
    What's the seller say?
I hope he's not inclined to duck his part of the deal.

So far he has been very responsive. He needed some additional info from me to file the claim. Time will tell. If I don't get satisfaction from him directly then I can dispute it thru PayPal. Having him file a claim is by far the easiest. It's just a waiting game right now.

It's ironic that my new job is with a trade association called AMPC (Association of Mail and Parcel Centers) I'm the operations manager so I have an "in" as far as how all this stuff works from both sides. I'm fairly new to the parcel and mail business so I'm getting up to speed very quickly.:p Plus, I have a wealth of knowledge to draw from.

At this point it's really he who has to initiate everything since the package origin resides with him. Even if I stick my nose in the middle UPS won't give me any info. They send all the forms, info and finally payment of the claim to him, and it has to go thru him. If he used a "parcel shop" to ship this (which I believe he said) they actually take the ball and start the process on his behalf.

I know!! Actually I haven't been in the "industry" long enough for a conspiracy against me......................but it certainly is ironic.

Why I didn't take the extra time to add an additional verified shipping address to my PayPal account, I don't know. I honestly believe it's lost/mis-delivered rather than stolen, but who the hell knows.

I'm pissed because I missed out on a pair of LSi 7's for $99. I'd rahter have the package than the cash!!!!!

My experience has been that it takes the shipper's between 3-6 months to settle claims, they encourage the claiment to "go away". Basically its a stall as some folks will just forget about it and the hassle.

Bottom line is its on the seller, I can understand his needing info and checking things out but after a couple weeks I would just send you your dough back. Sorry you may have lost out on a killer deal.

I will say if I don't get too much feedback not only from the seller but UPS I will file a claim thru PayPal towards the end of the grace period. I'm not going to be out the money and the merchandise.

Yes, I know Ted. They did me right once and it's probably way to much to ask for them to do me right again.

He says when they stop doing it he will stop!

I'm told on good authority that the UPS process for "lost" packages is easier and gets paid much more than a damage claim. We'll see.

Sounds like fraud to me... no matter what the UPS procedure.

    UPDATE:

Seller contacted me on Friday and UPS sent him the paperwork for the entire claim (what he insured the item for) so it looks like at this point I'll get all my money back and the seller won't be out anything either.

This seller was on the ball and did what he was supposed to do in a very efficient and polite manner. TODDCO aka Dylan are you reading this.

    Final update:

Just got a full refund (minus) PAYPAL fees from the seller. It's nice to know you can do business with honorable, responsible people on Ebay. Still would rather have the LSi 7's but this worked out for me.

Outstanding. But somewhere there is a new LSI-7 owner lurking in the shadows.

Congrats on getting your dough back, still sucks that you didn't get the 7's. Take it as a sign that you should be seeking 9's.:D

Maybe, except I used to have 9's and sold them for my SDA's. The LSi 7's would have been a nice secondary speaker to my 5B's for the office rig. The price was right. Ahhhhhh well........
