Okay I want to Bi-amp my monitor 40's I just want to take a break from surround for a while. My question is this. My yamaha rx-v361 has front and rears speaker outputs. Can I set the receiver to 5 channel stereo and connect the rear wires to the back of the monitor 40's and have the front wires connected to the back of them as usual. Or will this not work.

Should work fine, though it also depends on if the Yamaha does any processing to the signal in 5-ch stereo mode. Just make sure you remove the jumper from the back of the speakers. You can also use the level calibration controls to adjust the relative tweeter/midbass levels. You probably want to go into the setup menu, set both front and rear speakers to "large."

The clarity has improved quite a bit and the bass seems to be more deep. NICE I dont think I want to go.

Ahhh... someone discovered bi-amping. That's why we make it available on the vast majority of our speakers :)

I've used multiple outs on receivers before to bi-amp with results like yours. I'm glad it worked out for you as well!
