I'm stoked for Gears 2! can't wait. I don't know why more game makers don't incorporate co-op into their games. COD4 and Bad Company would be that much better if they had it.

Not owning a 360, the biggest news for me is the fact that FF13 will be coming to PS3 and 360. FF has been exclusive to Playstation since the beginning of time. Now I have to question Playstation's future. If all the games PS3 has are also on 360, plus 360 has other games that are not on PS3, who will buy a PS3?

Blu ray and Gran Turismo fans I would assume. Those are the only 2 Reasons I would buy one anyways.

I'm not saying no one will buy a PS3, I still love mine, but if I didn't have a console right now I would seriously consider getting a 360 over a PS3. I've always been a PS3 fan but now every game is on the 360, and they're charging us money to play demos (Qore), so the free online play is one of the only things it has left. Maybe at their press conference they will announce some new exclusive games (I hope).

It's not a monthly fee. It's $50 a year (which would be $4.16/month - Cheaper than a gallon of gas) and the online services from the 360 are 100x better than the PS3, in my opinion.

Quite honestly if anyone thinks that the PS3 online play will be free in the long run is gravely mistaken. They stay free because M$ is killing them with Live. But QORE is just the beginning.

Plus I have both systems, and Live is light years away over the PS3. There is no comparison.

IMO, thats a fairly impressive list of titles and feature updates.

If its like I am picturing, the hard drive install feature is going to be like heaven for me.

What is the big deal with Xbox Live anyway? I play it at my friends house from time to time and it doesn't seam any different then PS3's online play.

yea the install straight to HD sounds sweet. no more dvd noise and the fact im just a lazy bum when it comes to switchin games discs out. I knew i would have a reason to have the 120GB elite. i wonder how the netflix thing is going to work. If its just watching the online library they have, they need to beef up the titles by a TON. the online movie viewer only has movies ranging from like Short Circuit to Chupacabra 3

I would pay double and still think it's a killer deal. Online is all I do with my 360. I love it to death. I wish live was around when I was growing up. Man the Street fighter battles and Mortal kombat.... Damn we missed out.

Before anyone gets excited about the install to hard drive feature... You still have to have the game disc in the drive to confirm that you still own the game. It's not like you can just dump all your games to the 120gb drive and never have to get off the couch. Otherwise, you could just rent a bunch of games, copy them and pass them on.

This feature is mostly to give the option of reduced load times and drive noise. I'd imagine it's also to make multi-disc games like FFXIII possible, since the other discs could be installed to the HD and you could just have one disc in to verify that you own it. That way, you aren't swapping discs out as you play. I'd be willing to bet that new functionality went a long way toward getting FFXIII on the 360.

As far as the new dashboard goes, I'm psyched! The avatar thing I could go either way on (though I'm sick of people acting like Nintendo invented the concept with the Wii), but the new layout and guide look outstanding. I'm still curious how they're going to manage the large amount of content in the marketplace such that it is easy to find everything, but I'm sure we'll see more on that in the near future. I'm mostly happy about the 8-way party chat and the party system being backwards compatible with all 360 titles. That's the advantage of Live being a closed network instead of just straight peer-to-peer.
    Equipment list:
    Onkyo TX-NR3010 9.2 AVR
    Emotiva XPA-3 amp
Polk RTi70 mains, CSi40 center, RTi38 surrounds, RTi28 rears and heights
SVS 20-39CS+ subwoofer powered by Crown XLS1500
    Oppo BDP-93 Blu-ray player
    DarbeeVision DVP5000 video processor
    Epson 8500UB 1080p projector
Elite Screens Sable 120" CineWhite screen

    See joystiq post here.
Play from hard drive. You'll be able to copy game discs to your Xbox 360 hard drive. Installing the games will prevent wear 'n tear on the disc drive, and will shorten load times. You will still need the disc in the disc tray to prove you own the game.

Wow Im stoked, all nice games and new features. I have one premium, one arcade version and will buy a new one, perhaps the elite in about a month or two, or maybe even the 60 gig. I like the black elite though, thats hot. HDMI right into the JVC HD1, awesome gaming experience.

Can't confirm or deny what you're saying. I can say however, when the feature was implemented it was at the request of some of the bigger developers in the industry. Western mostly. I assure you, their wants and concerns weren't about drive noise or load times.
I should've listened way back in 2008, they told me I'd go broke... they were right
