Maybe he wants the buyer to bring cash; and the seller owns a crowbar.

Even $90 would be stiff for the way he is trying to sell the speakers. I'm going to e-mail him and see what he's got...

Here is the e-mail I got back from the seller:

I dont have any pictures but if your intrested you could come by and take a look and listen they are powered by a 150 watt x2 rms amp and dont peak they have a 7" subwoofer that has inverted surounds and a 2 3/4" tweeter. they also have a fuse for protection of the speakers and were given to me by my grandfather. I put some work into them but they still need a little tlc more. best sounding speakers ive ever owned and have the flatest frequency levels too.

No pic, no brand, no series and a half of a century old speak's for 9K? Sure, I'll take 'em.

He said that they were audiophile speakers and if it's on the internet, of course it must be true.

Seems like there is an upward trend in crack addicts selling speakers.

    So sad.

I think a crack addict would sell a pair of Altec A2s for $40 to get a fix. This guy has to be on some really good acid.

This would apply to a common crack addict. An audiophile turned crack addict with a fried brain might attach insane prices to his (or his stolen) gear. :)

After the last e-mail response, I replied if there was a model number on the speakers, and if indeed he wanted $9,000 for them. Here is the response I received:

there is no model number these speakers are so good they dont need them.
trust me I would not be selling them for this much unless they were worth it.
also to inform I had them appraised and they were scored much higher on the level
so I'm increasing the asking price substantially. $20,000 if your still interest just let me know when your available

Okay Zingo, here's your Plan of Action:

    1. Get a panel van.
    2. Load it with pipe-wielding ... thugs (Preferrably crack heads)
    3. Set up an appointment with the seller; tell him you're going to bring
cash, and PLEASE, don't sell them to anyone else.
    4. On the way to the appointment, tell the pipe-wielding crack heads in
the back of the van that the seller is a drug dealer, sitting on a pile
    of crack.
    5. Arrive at the appointed place at the appointed time.
    6. Kick this guy's arse into the middle of next week, into an alternate
    universe.
    7. Take pics of said activity; post them.

Added Bonus Points if you also take his speakers.
