I would rather have Parasound, Emotiva or av123 X-Series for amps.

? is what am I looking for in wpc at 4 ohms? Is a strong 100 enough or ?

I really want the X-Hub as a Pre whenever it comes out. Tubes are sweet though. Conrad is some nice vintage gear for sure.

    OFF TO RAT SHACK!!!

Btw, the pioneer vsx 5000 is a very strange receiver. looks like 100 wpc in stereo so I will take it easy for sure.

Keep an eye out for an inexpensive amp for these will ya'll? I will too.

My room is now 40% speaker lol.

I have the same receiver. Sounds good, but last i checked i don't think it has a pre-out, so running separate amps.....

    You'll need a new reciever.

I just have mine running some VS-25s in my bedroom, VERY easy to listen to. :)
I don't read the newsssspaperssss because dey aaaallllllllll...... have ugly print.

Really? You have one? PLEASE tell me how to set it up for a clean input from an external dac. I do not want any effects. I believe that I have achieved this but want to make certain. The amp might be ok but my source atm is a Sony dvd/cd 5-disc POS player lol. Talk about harsh in the highs. Especially with the 2000 tweets.

I will eventually be replacing it with more modern builds from av123. Pretty certain that the X-Hub or X-Empower will be smash hits.

I'd have to look around for you... to be real honest, i don't have the remote or the manual, i got it off a showroom floor locally for $100 for the reciever and the DVD player with it.

I just run the DVD player to the reciever with a Monster cable digi opti, and just hooked up the VS-25s as is, and i think it sounds great. Very accurate, tight, and VERY good imaging.

Might want to look into finding the matching DVD player. I think the code is E-500? I'll double check that at least for you tonite. :)

Yeah, I was given the receiver. I do hear the imaging but do not think that the amp is up for SRS-2 driving lol. I will not use a dvd/cd player as a source though. I generally use my laptop which plays lossless via Trends Audios UD-10 usb to coax converter. Problem is that the vsx-5000 is pre-coax input so yeah.

Does yours have two knobs on the front?

    Oh, I also got a Pioneer VSX-5000.

Forgive me, how do you hook these speakers up properly? He was using a gage of wire that I laughed at. I need to make something better. I have some 10 gage copper handy.

There is no I/C cable. I am not doing anything until I here from someone who knows these things. Don't worry, I am worn out from moving them.

You can sell them to me the speakers Polks just in case you don't know. I'm a Polk SDA lover. I would like to have all of the SDA SRA'S line.

lol yeah but unless you live near me forget it. I could never ship these for less than $500 just for the shipping and effort. Much less the amount it would take to pry them away from me lol.
