Gfa-555-ii

The unit powers on but no sound and the thermal protection
light is on.
Any ideas?

    When i would first turn it on it would move the speakers in and
    out real slow. kinda neat.

    With speakers disconected and inputs disconected turn on the amp. Take a multi meter, and set it for DC voltage. Read both channels positive to negative. I have repaired several of these amps.

    Yeah thats bad. It should read less than around 24mv.

    Well i think he was with adcom years ago and now has a little shop
    in his basement.
    Some folks may know him Joe C Service new britain Pa.
    He repaired my 545 and a nad i had 2 day turn around.

    Today i drove 45mins to drop off my 555II and the guy (joe)
    did a quick check and found 2 blown 7 amp fuses.
    That was the first thing i checked (By eye) i should have used
    a DVOM to be sure.
    But i sure am happy with just a $20 repair then a 100 or so.
