I thought that the play on Broadway in NYC was better than the movie. Although maybe "better" is not really the correct term. Both were good in their own way.

Didn't get a chance to see the play in Vegas.

LOVED IT! LOVED IT! LOVED IT!!! By far, the most enjoyable time I've had at the movies in the last couple of years, I had a smile on my face for nearly 2 hours. It's such a high energy, funny, sad a times, romantic movie with of course a fantastic soundtrack. I'm going back for seconds.

Of course Ron P liked it.

ABBA is terrible. I would rather lose a finger than see this movie.

My Polks will never have ABBA coming out of them.:D

I though Ron was an '80s guy, ABBA is from the '70s. :D

Doesn't really matter, the soundtrack FITS the movie as it was written around the music.

Overflowing with high-spirited fun, Mamma Mia! The Movie is the perfect film to enjoy at home this holiday season, and great for gift giving. Joining Streep and Brosnan onscreen are Amanda Seyfried (“Big Love”), Colin Firth (Love Actually), Stellan Skarsgård (Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End), Julie Walters (the Harry Potter films), Dominic Cooper (The History Boys) and Christine Baranski (Chicago). The three women who created the worldwide smash stage hit—global producer Judy Craymer, writer
Catherine Johnson and director Phyllida Lloyd—repeat their roles in bringing this joyful, musical story to the big screen. The Mamma Mia! film is produced by Judy Craymer and Gary Goetzman (My Big Fat Greek Wedding, Charlie Wilson’s War).

Mamma Mia! The Movie is an unprecedented worldwide phenomenon that continues to break records around the world. To date, it is the most successful movie musical of all time worldwide. Seen on stage by over 32 million people around the world, the global smash hit stage production of
MAMMA MIA!, is celebrating more than 7 years on Broadway and is currently playing recordbreaking engagements in Las Vegas and on National Tour in the United States. There are currently 8 productions of MAMMA MIA! running around the world (6 resident productions and 2 tours).

An independent, single mother who owns a small hotel on an idyllic Greek island, Donna (Meryl Streep) is about to let go of Sophie (Amanda Seyfried), the spirited daughter she’s raised alone. For Sophie’s wedding, Donna has invited her two lifelong best girlfriends—practical and no-nonsense
Rosie (Julie Walters) and wealthy, multi-divorcee Tanya (Christine Baranski)—from her one-time backing band, Donna and the Dynamos. But Sophie has secretly invited three guests of her own. On a quest to find the identity of her father to walk her down the aisle, she brings back three men from
Donna’s past to the Mediterranean paradise they visited 20 years earlier. Over 24 chaotic, magical hours, new love will bloom and old romances will be rekindled on this lush island full of possibilities.

Inspired by the storytelling magic of ABBA’s hit songs from “Dancing Queen” and “S.O.S.” to “Money, Money, Money” and “Take a Chance on Me,” Mamma Mia! The Movie is a celebration of mothers and daughters, old friends and new family found.

The single disc DVD is priced at $29.98 SRP, the 2-disc Special Edition is available for $34.98 SRP, and the Blu-ray Hi-Def is priced at $39.98 SRP.

There was an interview with Brosnan on one of the entertainment shows somewhere where he stated that when he was cast for the part, he TOLD the producers he couldn't sing. They told him not to worry, that he WOULD sing.

ROTFLMAO!!!!:D Thanks for the heads up. Oh well it can't be any worse than what poor actors had to go through during musicals hey day.

EVERYONE was expected to show up in a musical during that time whether they could sing or not. They even had poor JOHN WAYNE singing in one! WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!:D

Meryl Streep is an old hag. Normally I like **** moms that dance, but an old dancing **** mom sleepin' around with three guys, one who might be her daughters father does not make for a gripping movie experience . . . unless of course your like doro and count gripping the toilet bowl.

    Or Beaches: The Musical? Anyone?

:D:D:D WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!! Damn Brett you are on fire today!!!

Meryl looks very good for a 59 year old woman

What's more, Streep's 'character' wasn't old when she was sleeping with whomever. Don't confuse the actress for the character she is playing!

She played a royal **** in The Devil Wears Prada, but from what I have heard she is the nicest most unassuming woman you could hope to meet.

And if it were a man doing all this sleeping around would you still have a problem with it?
