OK this is totally out of thin air> No future plans, no nothing but curious, Ok everyone agree's the Lsi's and RTI's don't match tonally, sonically or what ever you wanna call it, they don't mesh well, so suppose someone put a full front stage LSI15's as mains and lsi center, and used various random what ever rears from the Rti series, say 28's and a csi30 for surround back for a complete rear setup, the only time you would hear a diference maybe would be on all channel stereo, or something similiar where all the channels were on at once. does this make sense??

Could you do it and have it match good? i'f not why wouldn't it?
or what are concrete evidence that you could tell a difference when say watching a movie and the rears only come on during action scenes or what not... Maybe a far future idea, maybe a money saving sceme i don't know. I just want alot of comments on this, and not the usual, ONCE YOU HAVE SOME LSI'S YOU WILL WANT THEM ALL, Ok No brainer again, But answer on what i have posed for you to chew on, Ok lets go... see what happens

I think you could, I don't think it's THAT critical for your rears and fronts to match but that is just my opinion. I'd do it with the option to upgrade the rears later. Having said that, if you were going ALL new, a pair of LSi7's for rears wouldn't be that much more.

If this is a question out of thinking, and one already owns the rear rt channel speakers, and is upgrading........by all means.I wouldn't buy lsi fronts then buy rt rears.

If one not that critical about ones sound, then mix and match away. When one looks to the Lsi series over the rt series,I believe one is critical about ones sound.

Straight answer from me would be NO.

Always a range of responses here, I really am done with my setup for now, finally complete.. But i was wondering this for myself i guess at a later date. But i guess i could have answered this myself, If i decided to sell my RTi70's and csi40 and get a set of lsi 15's and a lsi center and work with the RTI's for the rears for awhile they would work, I am kinda a stickler for everything matching, be it brands, finish, models and what not besides sound. I am not really looking for better sound as i am very happy with my setup, Just higher end in the long run, I have heard lots of good stuff about the LSI line and would like to think about it, Although people say they only work well with separetes and with amps, which i think is total bs, I think polk didn't have in mind when they produced this line that they would only run proper in this way, I also have NO desire what so ever to get separete componets. money or not i like my receiver and all my options that come with it. Does this mean i don't strive for better sound? NO it doesn't... ok any more idea's

    faster,

Running the LSi's on separates is not BS. They are a reasonably challenging speaker to drive and better suited to better amplification.

Having said that, I think you have a pretty bitchin' setup as is. As far as front and rears matching, for HT purposes, MO is that with all the audio and visual stimulation it is VERY difficult (and I would say nearly impossible) to make critical distinctions in the front and rear soundstage.

Good enough, understood and thanks for the compliment. I am happy and i think the LSI's are kinda above my budget at anytime really and i want the rti150's really. Just kicking around some thoughts/idea's Thanks

I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Then again, maybe someday my fronts and center will match.
