Georgia Polkfest 2007

Hello guys of the Georgia Polkfest 2007
I live in the Brunswick Georgia area and would like to meet any of you guys. I have a Problem with one of my Polks The SDA 2B I'm only getting sound from the tweeter only. it's the right speaker. I understand you (or you all) live on Cary street. I would love to bring my speaker to you before I replace all the drivers ,cross over ect.. thanks very much. I saw the street name in your Photos.

    Something came loose, Big Daddy. I'd check the connections at the crossover.

    Ant, you have begun applying logic?? Interesting. Yep, if we have signal to the tweets it would seem the place to start. I know the fellow just purchased these so if they were shipped no telling what's lurking, I have faith the Polk Nation will overcome.

    I like chicken wings and big butts with meaty thighs, different animals of course.

    I purchase these from E-bay the seller said that they were working fine 6 mouths ago. oh well I don't won't to give him a negative feedback.I don't like doing that. he seems like a pretty cool guy.

    Did he ship them to you??? He may be correct, they may have been fine, it is not unusual for damage to occur to SDA when shipped or even moved, wires can fall off from behind the driver's or the crossover can be damaged etc.

    BTW all those guys in that photo came from somewhere else, except for me. Many of them were on weekend passes from prison. ok just kidding, well, best you think I am...........nobody lives on cary, its just the name of an audio company we tend to like so the sign fits our hobby.

    Well I got to meet Clyde this afternoon, he had a frozen driver, the speakers are 2A's and one driver on the right speaker is the wrong driver with the other 6510 frozen, I left him with a "cat scratched from the Discomike fiasco" 6510 that still works but still needs to be replaced, the other driver is a 6502 so he needs a 6510 for that one.

    Anyway, Clyde is into good music and good sound, an old time audio guy like many of us and yes he likes his vinyl, I was eyeing a nice box of stuff from the 60's and 70's. He runs some carver mono-blocks which we strapped together so the can use the 2A's.


    Good to meet another Polkie close and welcome to the club Clyde. His comment to me, "you can find good people on the internet" well at least at Club Polk you can.

    Even though the speakers are not perfect yet I left him smiling as they were playing and did sound pretty good, its been a while since I heard an sl2000, ouch.:D He is ready to make the change to RDO but he also has a nice set of 1.2's that are going to need the tweeter upgrade.

    the speaks were delivered in a casket lined with dry ice, sorta like the one the two gumba's showed you when you had that misunderstanding........

    I had the pleasure to visit ted(reeltrouble1)at his home this past Sunday (7.13.08)Words cannot express the wonderful time I had there. I told him to tell his wife that I'm moving in.That Home theater system is just like the kids say in the streets "off the chain".From 3:00pm to a little after 9:00pm over a bowl of chips and diet soda I was in High End Audio Heaven.From the moment I walk up all those stairs to the warm greeting of the dogs (I love dogs)I'm not going to begin to describe Ted's Rig I'm just going to say Those carver Amazing Loud Speakers were just that Amazing Especially in the Lows(bass) Probably The Infinity Kappa 9 Speakers (Emit Tweeters) are better but you need a lot of power to drive those Infinity 88db.I'm going to get in trouble now. "THE SHORTEST DISTANCE BETWEEN TWO POINTS IS A STRAIGHT LINE" I'm an honest guy. Thanks ted for all your wonderful help and guidance. You are the "Messiah" of the High End Audio/Video World.
