Hey I liked it Mantis. The story line was to fast. They could have setup Xander's charecter more.

But the stunts....damn those were some of the best since GoldenEye.

Stunts alone made the movie worth it.

Just bought it and watched it. I thought that the stunts were amazing but everything else (except the chick and the GTO) was pretty lame. I've seen Vin in Pitch Black and Saving Private Ryan and thought he was very good in both, but his acting seemed really wooden in this one. Even Sam Jackson seemed kind of off his game; it's gotta just be bad direction.
The sound seemed pretty good except for a couple of things:
    1) Vin has an overdub in (I think) scene 21, where he is talking to the chick. That one line of his sounds so completely different from the rest of the scene that I laughed out loud.
    2) In the helicopter raid in Colombia I saw a lot of machine gun flashes from the guys running around the ground where it seemed you should be able to hear the gunfire...but all that could be heard were choppers and dirtbikes. Seems like they forgot a layer of sound.
I also though some of the gadgets looked really cheesy. That Ahab submarine thing looked like it might be left over from "The Avengers."
And binoculars that can take photographs through walls? Come on.

I know, pretty nitpicky...but disappointing nonetheless.
I think I'll have to move this disc over to the DVD swapping page.

I have to say I enjoyed it much more than I thought. Cheesy - ya. Hey cheesy has always been the #1 factor in American action movies. But I was impressed by the plot - it wasn't as hollow as I expected it to be. It was two hours of entertainment. I watched it again today. Good sound and picture quality to boot.

All stunts were totally implausible. How can anyone possibly launch a motorcycle 40 feet into the air without a ramp? Sheer force of will? This almost killed it for me.

Redeeming things about this movie were:

    1) The hot babes in the pool.
    2) The pole dance extra extended scene.
    3) The .44 Mag revolver with the different ammo loads.
    4) The GTO's color changing paint job.
    5) Some CGI and special FX were pretty well pulled off.
    6) The MONDO KILLER LFE track. Many scenes shook the GD room!

    A **** overall, but I've seen worse.

Just got done watching this. I liked it. While it wasn't anything groundbreaking it did keep my interest throughout. Alot of Bond similarities as well. :)

There were some scenes that I thought could have been done better but overall it's a decent movie.

But what about the Tao of Vin? Am I supposed to live my life 'a 1/4 mile at a time" or am I supposed to 'live for this ****'? I'm so confused...

This one really rode the line of being turdish and entertaining. Good call on the submarine and the 'levitating' motorcycle, I chuckled when I saw those.

Free ~is~ the only way to view this movie. Entertaining once, yes, beyond that, no replay value what-so-ever.

Did anyone else think the soundtrack (gun fire...etc.) seemed overly compressed, lacking definition and very localized.
