Saw this in the theatre when it came out. I liked it alot.
I actually felt bad for the little guy being alone for all those years with just a roach for a friend. And Eve was hot! he he he

Picked this up last night on DVD. Will probably watch it over the weekend again.

Watched this on Blu, great A/V, below average film. Quite boring actually, I had trouble staying awake. Pixar films just keep getting worse and worse with each passing one. There was just nothing exciting, emotionally engaging or funny. I should have stuck to my guns and not bothered with this. No more Pixar films for me until Toy Story 3.

How was the PQ for you on the Epson 1080UB?

The PQ was jaw dropping, the scenes in space were stunning.

OK, I finally saw this last night and OMG! It's depressing! Even thought it seemed to have a "happy" ending, I just wanted to crawl in to a dark corner and put a bullet in my brain pan! Wow! Preachyness aside, the underlying message of hope was just shattered by the whole situation and the patheticness of the whole thing. If that is even a word.

It reminded me of a cross between Silent Running (another extremely depressing movie) and 2001: A Space Odyssey. Whoa man, heavy stuff for kids and the robots weren't all that "cute" IMO.

The movie was alright though. It wasn't bad, just depressing.

Did you stay up through the whole film? Maybe you were just really tired or maybe you were not in the mood when you started to watch it? I was never at any point bored during the whole movie and found it to easily be one of their best. I personally have found a lot more of my friends, family, and reviews by those online to be highly positive than those who had anything negative to say about the movie. Sorry to hear you didn't like the film.

I will give it another viewing. The family liked it, and I do own it (blind buy). But yes, I did stay awake through the entire film, or I'm pretty sure I did anyway.

It might be worth another viewing, then again it might simply not be your type of movie. At least others in your house will be able to enjoy your purchase so not all is lost. Also the audio and video transfer is downright demo material.

The video yes, audio, not so much. Lacks some LFE except when the ship lands and takes-off, other then that I wasn't impressed with it too much; Iron Man, Hulk were two recent releases with way better soundtracks.

Ah OK, so you are more about the hyped up, exaggerated LFE heavy mixes. I can see that, it makes the movie watching experience more intense if you will. But when you listen to the DTS-HD MA track and actually listen the audio in the film is downright breathtaking, especially with Ben Burtt (a legend) behind the design and mix.

I saw it 3 days ago. Not bad. Pixar has made better though. It did get boring at times. Have it on Blu-ray.

Watched this the other night right after Hellboy 2 and actually really liked it.

I ignored the environmentalist angle embedded in it and just watch it as a movie and not An Inconvenient Truth Part 2. The story was kinda cool, the animation was awesome and I have to admit the "cuteness" of Wall-E and Eve cracked me up several times.

Definitely worth a rental and if you like animated flicks, Id even go so far as say its worth a blind buy!

I put on the BD last night expecting to be turned off by the preachy message. Instead I thoroughly enjoyed it. Wall E's character was Chaplinesqe, the story was enchanting, the audio and video quality reference and the "preachy message" was very logical and didn't have to be taken seriously. It was a fun movie and right up there with other Pixar releases. I thought Dreamworks had caught up with Pixar with Kungfu Panda, but they still lag behind in depth of story and animation.

Watched it with my nephews (5 and 11), after all it is a kids movie. They both lost interest in less than half an hour, and wanted to watch something else.
