Go see it. It's a great story for kids and adults, even putting the societal statements aside.

I'm so burnt on Pixar I don't think I can ever sit though another one of their films, until TS3. Pixar has been on a downward spiral since TS2. Some of their films; Monsters, Bugs and such made for a decent rental but no rewatch factor with any of them sans the TS films.
    If...
Ron dislikes a film = go out and buy it.
Ron loves a film = don't even rent.

Sorry, but I took the kids to see it over the weekend (3 and 5) and my wife, not a good movie. My children aren't into silent films, which this pretty much is until the last 1/3 of the movie. Also, the story line is coming hard from the very far left, the underlying story of "omg human's are lazy, fat and destroying the planet every day" just left me wishing I had went to the Hulk or Kung Fu Panda instead. Also the Wal-mart is evil theme wasn't good either. Too much leftist hippy mumbo jumbo in there for what could have been a fun movie.

I knew it was bad when both kids started asking to go to the bathroom 20-30minutes into the movie. At the Bee Movie, we didn't get up once. Low entertainment value, but it is a good showing of animation.

Art/political statement film, not an entertaining show for the kids or adults.

I totally disagree. A Bug's Life, Monsters, Finding Nemo, The Incredibles, Cars and Ratatouille are all films I thoroughly enjoyed more than once...and will watch them again. I guess that's why they make lots of different movies.

+1. i haven't had a chance to see Ratatouille yet but have loved all the other ones and seen them all more than once. At this point anything Pixar puts out is a blind buy to me until they put out a bad one.

I'm going to have to agree with Ron here somewhat, after Nemo, all the Pixar films I've seen have been just kinda so-so for me, I'm pretty sure that I didn't even finish watching Ratatouille, and the only reason I own the Cars BD is because it was free. Wall-E on the other hand is a good movie, I won't say great, but a definite buy for me when it hits BD.

Interesting ideas to throw into a kids movie whether or not they've been done a hundred times before. I thought the plot overall was a decent idea but I found the movie to be really boring. It basically was built on the cute factor to try and pull you through to the end and that didn't really do it for me. It's hard to portray what they attempted in practically a silent film that also happens to be PG and directed to a young audience.

2/5 stars for me. Maybe worth a rent.

Saw the movie after the Giants game yesterday at the Sony Metreon, it is an absolutely fantastic film!

I think maybe the small amount of dialog made it hard for some people to hang on. The story and emotion in these CG robots is absolutely amazing.

The best film I've seen this year. Pixar manages to produce arguably avant garde movies that are nonetheless reliable blockbusters year after year. 8.5/10

I went and saw WALL-E last night and thought it was incredible! the story was great but what made the movie was the incredible and stunning visuals and the awesome audio tracks with it......this movie ranked a 9.1 out of 10 for me........also the pixar short in the beginning was great too!

Thanks for the suggestion; I'm gonna go watch TS2. That was a good Pixar movie.

Wall-E was okay, it was pretty funny in some spots. It reminded me a lot of Short Circuit (which is where I think they got a lot of inspiration).

I typically HATE 90% of the movies I go to see, including the movies I take the kids to. I think this is due to the fact that the vast majority of movies today are made / financed by huge corporations whose goal is the highest ROA on the film, and not the highest quality of movie or story.
With that said, I actually really enjoyed this one. I found the 'social statement'
of this G-rated movie quite refreshing, compared to the majority of stale, over-used plot lines and themes in most mas-marketed movies. At the worst, maybe my kids will start thinking a bit more about the value of conservation.

Watched this on Blu, great A/V, below average film. Quite boring actually, I had trouble staying awake. Pixar films just keep getting worse and worse with each passing one. There was just nothing exciting, emotionally engaging or funny. I should have stuck to my guns and not bothered with this. No more Pixar films for me until Toy Story 3.
